Undocumented Immigrants Essay
America, “The Land of Opportunity,” attracts many. Individuals that are drawn to America and its benefits include tourists and even illegal immigrants or “Undocumented Immigrants.” Immigration refers to the act of journeying to a country with the intent to stay permanently. The United States offers legal admission but the process can often prove to be tedious and cumbersome. In an attempt to bypass the U.S. legal system, individuals may resort to unlawful access to the country. Immigration should be encouraged because diversity makes for a stronger, more unique country, but it should not be done so in an unlawful and inappropriate manner including one that hinders Americanism.

“Undocumented” peoples tend to migrate to the America with the intent to find work and consequently make money. Legal, documented U.S. citizens also have to work and make money. Undocumented peoples that inappropriately claim American jobs before legal American citizens should not be tolerated. Secondly, some immigrants can “... take college slots that American citizens could use” (Should Illegal Immigrants). Undocumented citizens should not be able to just take what is rightfully a documented U.S. …show more content…
It is important to understand that individuals who immigrate to the U.S. may, along with work, be fleeing countries that are not suitable for daily life. Other countries can be quite difficult to succeed in or to even make ends meet. Some say that “As long as they (Undocumented Immigrants) make a commitment and obey the laws” (Debate.org) they should be able to stay on American soil. Undocumented immigrants can be known for their strong work ethic and should be allowed to work for the country, in areas such as California, Texas and New Jersey (Pew Research
