My article talks about ultraviolet rays. Ultraviolet rays are an invisible form of light, and can cause much damage to your body. It can damage you organs, and can also cause you to get skin cancer if you are not careful. Ultraviolet rays are measured in nanometers. Nanometers measure the wavelength of the ultraviolet rays. When a ultraviolet rays wavelength gets to a short point of 320nm it can be harmful to living things. Even us. So be sure to wear your sunscreen!

This article interests me because it shows me that ultraviolet rays aren’t just for pleasure and joy like looking at a rainbow, they do so much more. Like for an example when an ultraviolet rays wavelength is at 300nm the waves are capable of killing bacteria and viruses. Isn’t that cool?! Turns out when a wavelength shorter that 320 nm can produce vitamin D. So it looks like milk isn’t your only source of vitamin D.

Knowing about ultraviolet rays and there power can help our society by being more aware of the damage it could do to you. Most people don’t wear sunscreen year round, but I would recommend you would. With the ozone layer braking down as we speak the ultraviolet rays are getting stronger and can cause serious skin cancer. A lot of people in our community cant afford the treatment to cure this type of cancer, and some sever cases of skin cancer could cause death. So why not prevent this from happening and wear your sunscreen?

A lot of scientists now days are focused on how the chemical reaction of ultraviolet rays are causing our ozone layer to brake down. So on top of humans destroying it ultraviolet rays are to. Scientists say that bee’s and butterfly’s and other insects can see ultraviolet rays, but unfortunately we can not. Hopefully someday scientists will create a device so we are able the see them.

While having a tanned body maybe attractive for some, the problem is that there are also many tanning bed dangers.
