ELEGANT HOME WITH POWER SAVING, SECURITY, SAFETY, REMOTE CONTROLLING AND AUTO CONTROL OF WATER TANK MOTOR

CHAPTER 1

ABSTRACT

The main aim of this project is provide security, safety and automation for homes and offices. These are very essential in present life style.

Security is primary concern for every one. This Project describes a design of effective security alarm system that can monitor the house with eight different sensors. Unauthorized access, Fire accident, wall braking, IR detection, and fire detection can be monitored by the status of each individual sensor and is indicated with an LED.

The burglar alarm is built around the AT89C51 micro controller from Atmel. This micro controller provides all the functionality of the burglar alarm. A maximum of 8 sensors can be connected to the burglar alarm. A power supply voltage of +5 VDC is available for each sensor at the corresponding wiring terminals.

Apart from security concern here we also take care of home automation. In this competitive world human cannot spare his time to perform his daily activities manually without any fail. The most important thing he forgets is to switch off the room lights wherever not required. With this, even the power will be wasted up to some extent. This project gives the best solution for electrical power wastage. Also the manual operation is completely eliminated. The home appliances can be switched on/off using IR without actually going near the switch boards or regulators. The TV remote used in this project is IR remote.

The loads like lights, motors, heaters, power controlling system and also current through the loads can be controlled in this project. We can control all loads at

a time from one place (control room) without connecting any physical wire between loads and control room.

The water level of the water tank can also be monitored and the motor can be controlled through project. Due to

The project connects a Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Gas Sensor Alarm Detector to windows. The system monitors the Carbon monoxide concentration continuously using the Carbon monoxide detector. And then the signal generated by the Carbon monoxide detector will be sent to a controller. When the exposure of the concentration is above 30 ppm, the Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Gas Sensor Alarm Detector will alarm and the windows will open automatically within 3 minutes. Our group generate 4 design alternatives which are carbon monoxide detector connected to power windows, magnetic levitated windows, windows with motor or windows with attached magnets. According to the comparisons between the alternatives about requirements, theories, practicability, convenience, costs, looks and noise, our group chose the carbon monoxide detector with motor to control the windows as our proposed design.…
