Ullu Archetype
Victor’s reaction to the universal symbols is anger, and with his dad leaving it is as if his father died. Everybody shared the experience of Arnold leaving such as, his wife, son, Thomas, and Thomas’s grandmother. Nevertheless, it affected Victor personally. Victor ignored his thoughts about what he thought about his father, and the true feelings he was feeling when his father left him. Every time Thomas would tell a story about Arnold, Victor would ignore him. This unconscious feeling was conscious when he was younger, Victor would show his anger by throwing the beer bottles at his fathers truck. This conscious thought began to resume when he left the reservation with Thomas, finding the truth. The death of Arnold made Victor to start having flashbacks of his father, and realizing the truth of his father through Suzy as well as Thomas. (Alexie, 1998)
Another type of archetypes is character. Ezeulu represents the old wise man, which is seen as the savior. Ulu is the major god, but Ezeulu is seen as someone powerful.
