TYPES OF ENGINEERS

AEROSPACE ENGINEERING
Aerospace engineers design and develop some of the world’s most marvelous machines. Commercial airplanes, military fighter jets, and space telescopes are all brainchildren of aerospace engineers. But aerospace technology has plenty of earthbound applications, such as aiding in the design of race cars and golf balls.

AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING
Agricultural engineers design farm and food processing equipment, construct crop storage and livestock buildings, and develop systems for drainage, irrigation, and waste disposal. Sometimes agricultural engineers work in labs like EPCOT's Land Pavilion, where they experiment with promising indoor farming techniques such as hydroponics-the science of growing plants in fluids without dirt.

ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING
Working alongside architects, architectural engineers focus on the safety, cost, and construction methods of designing a building. For example, as the United States population grows in the Southwest, more and more architectural engineers are investigating new ways to build on land where there is only sand and sagebrush.

BIO/BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING
Bioengineering combines biology and engineering. Some of these engineers work closely with biologists and medical doctors to develop medical instruments, artificial organs, and prosthetic devices.

Civil Engineers have to know how to design and assemble shapes to construct buildings, dams, bridges, tunnels, highway systems. Civil Engineer must understand and know how to compute such quantities as lengths, areas, volumes, centroids, moments of inertia, and curvatures of a building. Civil Engineers also help build my most favorite place in the world, they help with the designing of soccer fields. The whole field is 120 by 75 yards, the midfield has to be right in the middle of the field, they also have to measure the size of the keeper box which is 6 yards by 20 yards and the penalty box is 18 yards by 40 yards, they also have to help construct the goals that is the length of 8 yards, and last the corners of the field have to be exactly 90 degrees with a quarter circle on the inside of the field so we know where to take the corner kick…

Architecture is the art and profession of planning, designing and constructing form, space and ambiance to reflect a functional and aesthetic environment. People spend most of every day in a building of some kind. Whether it is a place to live, work, play, learn, worship, shop, or eat, buildings influence and shape people’s everyday lives. No matter if these places are private or public; indoors or out, rooms, skyscrapers, or complexes, architects are responsible for the designing of these structures. Architects are skilled in the arts and sciences of building designs and develop and turn concepts for structures into reality. Throughout history there have been many fields…

Some of the most important artifacts from our nation’s history are housed there. The National Air and Space Museum, in particular, contains the world’s largest collection of artifacts related to aviation and space technologies. The history of the National Air and Space Museum reflects both its purpose and importance. For example, before the National Air Museum was named the National Air and Space Museum, it had only begun to display artifacts related to space technology and rocketry. As people viewed these artifacts, they became inspired by the thought of space travel and the advancement of rocketry. These inspirations then led to even more advancements in the field of space travel and in the study of rocketry. This example reflects the purpose of the National Air and Space Museum, which is to inspire young and old minds to continue the advancement of technology, and it will continue to inspire people of all ages for years to…

In order to have a successful mission to the moon you have to have a powerful and reliable rocket. A lot of research is required to design and launch a vehicle of this caliber. The US already successfully undertaken one program to reach the moon; this program is known to the world as the Apollo programs. In this program the US’s space agency the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was responsible for the design and deployment of arguably the most powerful rocket ever built, Saturn V. That was the 1960’s, here in the 2000’s the Apollo program is history and the Saturn V has been retired. There is a new program though that is designed to return US Astronauts to the moon once again and eventually to Mars. This program is called Constellation. The launch vehicle that will do the heavy lifting for this program is the Ares V and the Ares I will launch humans into space. This paper seeks to compare the old lunar launch vehicle to the new lunar launch vehicle and highlight the differences.…

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, more commonly known as N.A.S.A, was started after the Soviet Union sent a satellite named Sputnik into space the year before. They are a government agency in the United States of America that has taken on the task of researching science and technology related to space and air [1]. NASA has gone from one amazing accomplishment to another year after year since the space race. NASA’s goal is “to reach for new heights and reveal the unknown so that what we do and learn will benefit all humankind”[1]. For over 50 years NASA has been trying to answer the questions all of mankind has about the vast wonders of space. In the beginning of NASA applications for space technology were being developed by use of weather and communication satellites. After the first steps on the moon by Neil Armstrong during the Apollo 11 mission on July 20, 1969 NASA concentrated on developing a reusable ship for access to and from space using the vessel known as the space shuttle [1]. The first launch of the space shuttle was in 1981 and it flew over 130 flights before being retired in 2011. A multinational project in 2000 representing the 16 nations work was started, the Russia and the U.S. established constant human presence aboard the International Space Station [1]. NASA research peaked again in 1997 when the mission to mars began. The Mars Pathfinder was a spacecraft sent to explore Mars within the next ten years so scientist can determine if life ever existed there. As the new century turns about, NASA reaches across the universe. The Rover is still currently exploring Mars after its arrival with his brother Spirt in 2004. While Cassini orbits around Saturn, Juno will trek his way to Jupiter. The Hubble Space Telescope examines and discovers the innermost workings of the universe. NASA is in the business…

In addition to their involvement in design and development, many engineers work in testing, production, or maintenance. These engineers supervise production in factories, determine the causes of a component’s failure, and test manufactured products to maintain quality. They also estimate the time and cost required to complete projects. Supervisory engineers are responsible for major components or entire projects. (See the statement on engineering and natural sciences managers elsewhere in the Handbook.)…

Humans have many systems which work independently but at the same time they need to work together as the digestive system, neurological, cardiac, and etc., that are very important for our survival. Within these systems there are other smaller systems that take care of the proper function of them, as the digestive system is the stomach that produces acid to break down food and absorb nutrients. Several times in our lives, we have problems with any of these systems and we have to go in search of a professional to help us. The doctors provide their professional services for our welfare and thus help improve our health problems. We have to be very conscious about our systems to not have more health problems and live a quiet life without emergencies that may put our lives in risk. Just as humans, airplanes have systems that provide the smooth operation of the aircraft. The fuel and oil systems are two of the most important of a plane because the proper functioning of the engine depends of these two systems. For this reason, the maintenance must be done by an Aviation Maintenance Technician, and the aircraft must be operated by a Professional Pilot because all this can affect the safety of the flights.…
