Tyge Otteson Brahe Research Paper
Tyge Otteson Brahe, otherwise known as Tycho Brahe was boy born and raised in Denmark. He was raised by his wealthy uncle because his parents were nobility. With the ability to go wherever he wanted to go to college there was no way he wasn't going to be great. Born in Denmark in 1546, he was raised by his wealthy uncle in Denmark. His parents were were members of nobility. His father had mad a pact with his uncle that if he ever had a son that he would give him the boy, but as Tycho was born the father went back on his word and decided to keep the boy. But as the second son was born the uncle kidnapped Tycho and raised him from then on. After that Tycho would inherit a large estate from his uncle later in life. As a young boy he wanted to study Latin and law. With the help of his uncle he got into the University of Copenhagen to study law and philosophy. One day he witnessed a partial eclipse of the sun, he learned the basic tables of Copernicus theory and even studied some of ptolmeys work. As he was observing he noticed that a new star was in the sky and it was a supernova. This star has only been sighted twice in history. Many astronomers tried to predict when this star would show but all attempts were unsuccessful. That night Brahe had just finished working on a new instrument called the sextant. The instrument could peer further into the sky than anything that had been invented. He was finally able to find the source and the movement of the supernova. Brahe said that the new star did not move and was located in the eighth sphere of the earth. He published this and then soon shot to fame. During his youth he got into a dual with a boy and lost part of his nose and then wore a gold or silver piece to cover up the hole where he had been
