Some may argue that politicians’ online activity offers greater transparency for the public. This argument is credible. Take current US president, Donald Trump as an example. Twitch will be used to create livestreaming for audiences of shared interest, which will also be posted to Youtube in order to reach a broader. Due to inconsistency of future viewing, Facebook would not be a proper social media platform for campaigning mainly because audiences are biased and composed of family and friends. Another reason why Facebook would not work for this campaign is because of the lack of confidentiality it maintains. Friedman explains that we need to get offline and get active within the community to truly make any politicians listen to what we need as the next coming generation. He feels our generation has become too quiet because of what technology has brought. He criticizes our generation by saying we waste time on social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace. I agree that various social networking sites aren’t going to help us solve problems such as global warming. However, I strongly believe that technology has many positives that Friedman fails to recognize.…

Professors of communication Jacob Groshek and Daniela Dimitrova conducted a study to examine the correlation between online media use and political involvement during the 2008 political election. This study was done on a Midwestern statewide sample. According to the study, “A series of analyses of variance indicated that the increased use of weblogs, social networking sites, online video sites, and candidates' websites for news and campaign information purposes was moderately but positively related to political involvement” (Groshek, Dimitrova). Using social media is an easy way to show one’s support for a political candidate or to voice one’s political views. Relaying campaign news over the Internet was connected to a higher level of political involvement, while the use of blogs lowered the level of involvement. The study concluded online media only has political influence on certain aspects of the presidential…

I strongly reckon that social media will impact our society in ten years. There will be lots of changes. People will be more concerned with their standards of life in the society. They will take part in gatherings and will be extroverted but of course there will be a lack of intellectualisms, there can be harm to our society in ten years. Social media will considerably affect the future. They would not be sociable as if now. They will run their life on social media. But,’ it only depends on the person how they use social media’. ‘They can take advantage of it or they can ruin their life’. ‘It is not social media’s fault, it is your fault’. It is your choice…
