Twin Mountain-Personal Narrative
When I heard the sound of the station wagon starting up I almost soared out of my seat. I was so excited that I was going to Twin Mountain this weekend. The past week was troublesome and I was ready to leave all of that behind in reality. In the middle of the autumn season the mountains of West Virginia were magnificent and stood tall above all of us people below. As we ventured up the mountain, the windy turns and the popping of my ears almost made me wonder how much higher we were going. The butterflies in my stomach arrived when I saw the leaves on the many oak trees had that sweet auburn brown color that seemed to hug the earth that was around me. The car then stopped right outside the cabin and I opened the door to be greeted by a number …show more content…
I then began to climb up the mountain in hope of surmounting the top. The sound of the boots treading on the many pine cones and sticks on the ground echoed throughout the mountain. When I reached the top I looked back down and saw all the marvels of wildlife I thought to be my loyal subjects staring up at me. The wind whispered around me and almost lifted me into the clouds that were not too distant from where I was standing. I could be anyone I wanted and I didn’t have any worries about what I would face when I went back down. There was no one on top of the mountain who would tell me about the research paper I had to do or about the girl who says she hates my guts. When I’m at this special place I am in a state of reverie that is a form of escape from the many worries that I have left back in reality. But like all good things in life they have to come to an end and I eventually had to venture back down the mountain. As I trekked down the mountain all these fears, that had plagued me once before, started to trickle back into my mind, and I lost that state of relaxation that the top of the mountain brought to me. As we left the cabin in the station wagon, I looked back and saw all the leaves falling down for my departure and the wind made it as if the tree branches were waving good bye to me as the dust behind the car clouded up my vision.

Tyler sat in the car waiting, he was anticipating everything to go wrong at any given moment, that always happened. We will probably hit a moose or something, he thought as Tyler, and his dad were driving through the British Columbia rockies, driving to where they would eventually set up camp, in a forested area. Two of his friends were going to meet him there, as long as everything went according to plan, which it seemed to never do. But after five and a half hours of driving, they finally made it. Tyler dropped out of the small SUV and looked around at his surroundings, their campsite was small, about the size of a large classroom, with trees as tall as giants surrounding them, down…

A few years ago I found myself in the market for a new vehicle when the one I had drowned. I had two children living at home and one on the way. I knew I would need a larger vehicle to accommodate a family of what would be five. I went to the auto dealer and narrowed it down to two vehicle. An Equinox and a Mountaineer. Then I made a pros and cons list. This was a very stressful time. It was a considerably large purchase that I wanted to make sure was going to be everything I needed at the time. The Equinox was large enough for all five of us at the time; however it was not big enough to keep the girls from picking on each other. Nor was it large enough to haul anything. The price was right and I liked the way it looked. Great on gas and easy to drive.…

The wind was whistling as the sun had disappeared behind the noble mountains leaving a dark atmosphere of death in the cold, lonely, air. The distressing burial of the by-gone Lennie left a dull fog of depression that seeped through the ranch leaving dismal and unanswered questions. It had rained recently and the scent of pine filled the car as we drove with our windows down. I noticed wet red dirt that resembled clay. I pointed out this discovery to the kids, whom were amazed at every new sight. The air was so clean, there was no scent of smog, to which I had grown accustomed, in my home town. We observed many trees and relished in their beauty. There were trees of all kinds ranging from pine, to cedar, hickory and many others. The colors that filled them made me realize, I had truly arrived. The scenery was so beautiful and welcoming. I was home and it felt that way from the moment I arrived. My children and I noticed fall leaves everywhere. All colors associated with autumn made me cry, I was just so happy and exhausted. I couldn’t wait to get out of the car and really relax. After about three days of driving I was totally worn out and suffered from a bad case of insomnia. In spite of it all, I was excited to start my new job and our new…

Four days ago I darted out from the Leedey community building. I went to the hammon flatlands, but the bad thing is that is it is very cloudy and is hard to see the black walkers. I have gathered a horse, dirt bike, hatchet, machete, rope, and also guns which the horse carries. I have trained the horse to follow me and when a zombie is near I signal the horse to stay away while I kill the zombie. I am headed to the colorado mountains to seek safety because the zombies can’t live in cold nor the virus.…

Once upon a time I was blessed with a beautiful rare red horse. The reason I got it was because it was my 16th birthday. The horse was so special because not only was it red, but it also talked. I named him Billy, because he said ‘’ I want my name to be Billy’’. I always took Billy out for walks and sometimes he took me for walks. What made Billy even more special was that he could fly. One time when I was walking with Billy, another kid from down the street was walking his horse. The kid with the horse told Billy and I that we are stupid, so Billy started to cry. I felt bad because I didn’t know what to do, so under pressure I did what any kid who is getting bullied would do. I told Billy to fly away, and we ended up in a magical place named Chicago. We crashed at a motel downtown.…

I felt my stomach disappear. The ground accelerated towards me, as I sped up the side of the mountain blurred. I was falling. The mountains in the distance looked like pure gold, absorbing the evening sunlight with their desert-sand-colored surfaces. The skyline was beautiful. The sun was just crossing the horizon, a flash of every color of the rainbow and more danced around it. I was at peace. I was so close to the ground that I could see every detail of every rock, every grain of sand. Time slowed. I could see every atom, every molecule. I had time now. I had the time to think about what I had done, and what it had meant. I had faced the snake. I had conquered my fear of heights, and I had conquered my fear of falling. I had conquered my fear of fear. It felt freeing in a way, there was nothing to be afraid of anymore. It was like a dream.…

It wasn’t easy, and it was intimidating. While we climbed higher toward the peak, the terrain got steeper and steeper until we were forced to climb on our hands and knees. The higher we climbed the closer we were pushed to the edge of the drop off. It was a gut-wrenching sight. The wind had become a gusty gale, threatening to throw us off. As we shimmied farther towards our goal, the wind lashed out, the hail struck with new ferocity, and my mind fought to keep in control. And as I climbed over the final obstacle, my terror turned to triumph, and I stood on top of the…

As I approach the turn to my Grandmother's house, my stomach turns in the anticipation of the perfectly sweet peanut butter cookie smell that awaits. As my mother turn up the long narrow gravel road and parked the car in front of her house. I stepped outside and a chilly little breeze bites at my cheeks. I take a deep breath and the sweet smell of burning cedar enters my nose. I look up to the chimney and see the gray puffs of smoke scatter as it hits the still winter air. I shut the car door and follow the sidewalk to the back door. I opened the door and the biggestsmile immediately spreads across my face. I see no one but my grandma and realize how much I miss her each and every time we leave from her.…

That night was the most difficult, as I did not get a wink of sleep, but how could I? After seeing such a beautiful woman, what man would be able to resist such a temptation? I wanted to see her again; I needed to see her again. I had to know she was real. I had to know that I was not crazy, and that perfection did exist, as I had just witnessed it in her. I lay on my bed, watching the sunrise through my window. I rose, and wandered off to a nearby field. I come here to reminisce and appreciate how beautiful the world is, inhaling the natural beauty infused in the flora. I lay beneath the oak tree, so peaceful and pleased. I could hear the soft voice of a woman, whispering sweet melodies. I thought this odd, as I know no one often…

After the half-hour walk of hiking up the mountain with finally reached the halfway point. I looked over at my cousin to see that his shirt had turned from a light gray to a dark gray and that his face was glistening in the rays of sun that had escaped from the hands of the three-story tall green giant. The valves in my pores had seemed to be open and showering my whole body. We walked a little more towards a cliff, which was like a rocky natural balcony. The moisturefilled air made it seem like we were going to cobwebs drowning our lungs, making us take shortbreads.…

The back of your Dad's truck felt so small. We couldn't even stretch our legs. Thinking about it now I don't know why we sat back there, and suffered the whole way up there, especially on those curvy, bumpy roads. Sleeping half the way up to the mountains was the only thing that helped us survive the ride. Once we woke up do you remember sticking grapes up our noses and then giving them to Janie? We couldn't stop laughing so much; I think that's how she knew we did something to her grapes. If she only would have eaten one, I think we would have pissed our pants. Finally after hours and hours we arrived to the cabin.…
