The Turning Point in The Revolutionary War

The Revolutionary war took place in 1775 to 1783. This was a war between the British and the Americans. The colonists were fighting for their freedom, they wanted to become their own. Wrote the Declaration of independence to gain their. But they needed to Fight for it. During The Revolutionary war, most of it was one sided towards the Britishes favor, they were winning all of these small battles against the colonists such as the Boston campaign and the Invasion of Canada. But one magnificent leader washington found a loophole in their battle tactics causing the british to surrender at the battle of Saratoga. This led the colonists to get militarily and more political help the ever, Soon leading to an end and a victory in our favor of the revolutionary war.

The Americans have been fighting for their independence for some time now, even though British were ahead of them, There was no clear sign when this war would end This is when Saratoga comes into place; The battle of Saratoga had a large ripple on America’s military in this war. This battle played such a huge role in the American revolution because this is what caused the war to move west. After The americans made general Burgoyne surrender the …show more content…
But as soon as they started getting recognition from france they started to get recognition from other countries. Things were starting to turn in their favor. At the same time as this war was going on the French were attacking Britain, which caused Britain to be basically fighting two wars at the same time and they couldn't keep this up financially for very long.     The Revolutionary War was one of the most important events in history for America and Britain. The war, in a way, helped America become its own nation and declare independence from Britain. At the time of the Revolutionary War, the English were in control of the Americans. Both sides had crucial advantages over each other that decided the outcome of the war. Let’s start with colonists; one of the biggest advantages they had over Britain was they had a major cause for wanting to fight. They were fighting for their independence, pride, liberty and the rights they deserved. They had a desire to win which was probably stronger than England’s desire because they were fighting for their own cause. Another major advantage America had was how far away from home the British were. They were over 3,000 miles from home, leading to poor communication with supply lines and their leaders. America was unfamiliar territory for the English which was another major advantage the colonists had. It was difficult for the British to capture and hold territory because of how large America was. America knew the ins and outs of their own land, including where to hide and shortcuts. Another reason America had an advantage over Britain was that the English citizens were tired of war.
