Turning Point In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet
Kaylee and I did the scene where the nurse tells Juliet Tybalt is dead. The nurse comes into Juliet’s room, upset, and tries to tell Juliet that Romeo killed Tybalt, but Juliet misunderstands and breaks down because she believes that Romeo is dead. Eventually the nurse does get her point across, that Tybalt is dead and Romeo is banished, but then Juliet is even more distraught. We chose to perform this scene because it is a turning point in the play. Before then it had been Romeo and Juliet in a relatively happy story, no one was hurt, and even though Romeo and Juliet were from rival families, they could still be together. Now they could not be together, as Romeo was now banished, so Juliet would have to wait a long time for his eventual redemption
