One other thing that happened is that when the People trapped in the building they jumped out of windows and landed on the fire departments hose making it difficult to extinguish the fire.

In my source from wikipedia says that a bookkeeper on the 8th floor was able to warn the people on the 10th floor via phone. There was no way to contact the 9th floor because there was no audible alarm or no way to contact the staff.

The factory was located on the 8th, 9th, and 10th floors of the Asch building located at 23-29 Washington place. The building is still located in Greenwich Village in Manhattan, New York. this building is also known as the Brown building. The building was said to have fireproof rooms and the building is made out of steel and iron in 1900-1901. The building was listed on the the National Register of Historic Places, also the National Historic Landmark 1991, and New York landmark in 2003.

Some people may question whether or not the building is still there. The answer for this question is yes the Brown Building is still standing and in the same location. Some of the other question that people may ask are what was the cause or where was it

In 1909, workers at the Triangle Shirtwaist factory began to strike for better working conditions. The workers were harassed by hired toughs and prostitutes hired by the company. When photos got out in the newspaper of the strikers being attacked, the movement gained widespread support by many powerful people. This forced Triangle to end the strike and give in to demands for better working conditions, 52 hour work week, and a fixed wage scale. The bosses still distrusted the workers and often locked all exits but one to prevent them from stealing. When a fire broke out in their supposedly “fireproof” building, the workers only had 1 narrow elevator to escape by. The workers were too high up in the building for people to be rescued from the…

It was that it began in a small rag bin, a simple target for a fire in a building with locked fire escape routes, unoperational elevators, and no ventilation, that initiated the fight for worker safety. Although most hand-made garment businesses have been made irrelevant in the U.S. due to industrialization and mass production today, the tragedy of the Triangle Waist Factory fire should be included in next year’s edition of textbooks because it sparked a revolution for labor unions that succeeded in the fight for better working conditions.…
