When it comes to personality traits for a trauma nurse there can be a lot. Trauma nurses have to be able to have good teamwork skills, which consist of communication and being able to trust one another in what they do. Having a sense of humor is a big one for a trauma nurse because of all the stress they go through day to day. Not being judgement and being calm with the patient are also great personality traits, this allows the patient to know you are there for them when they need it. Then there are characteristic traits which include being fast paced, talking to the patient families about what's going on, good documentation skills, and being able to put your emotions away while on the clock.
