Transportation Interest Groups
Interest groups play as somewhat of an advocate for multiple businesses and corporations. There is an interest group are formed for almost every industry in the U.S. The transportation sector is highly immersed with lobbying and trying to persuade legislation to help pass bills that will improve aspects of the industry for better functioning. The transportation industry consists of air, automotive, rail, and sea transport. Some of their top contributors are delivery and car dealerships, who really are engaged in lobbying. Most of their influencing efforts are to possibly get funding for infrastructure, safety, and security issues.

The more money and time an interest group spends on lobbying, the more they will succeed in getting their way with politicians. If they failed at basically “financing campaigns”, this could hinder the growth of this industry. There are bills are that are being presented that hurt or advance transportation. If they aren’t contributing as they should, they could lose popularity and be at disadvantage from other groups who are participating in political …show more content…
Providing selective benefits would be an excellent way to gain more members. In exchange for joining their group they can offer benefits such as special discounts within the transportation industry to new members. Members are a vital part of an interest group and is what boosts their growth Without many members it would be difficult to remain steadfast in fighting for bills to get pass or over thrown. Also I would push for financial stability in order to win over candidates. An option for that could be to maybe start up a non-profit organization to help build financial stability. Interest group are viewed in the negative light as a way to buy politicians influence. This is the reason why so many people believe in the corruption of the iron triangle. On the other hand, it gives different corporations and public a chance to push for policies that will help their interest
