Transportation of Dangerous Goods ----Key of Port Security
Abstract
In this essay I will discuss and analysis some problems about port transportation of dangerous goods in Shanghai transportation community then I will design some proposals to reduce or eliminate adverse effects by good transport management and information technology.
Good transportation management should be applied in the transportation of dangerous goods. We must establish a complete system to reduce illegal transportation of dangerous goods. With the construction of port information, some information technology can be applied in the process of management to maintain port security.

Introduction
Along with economic globalization, the world shipping market is rapidly heading towards globalization, networking, and world market competition becomes increasingly fierce. The focus of competition has become increasingly evident, competing in the global market, shipping center and seize the high ground of shipping. With the foundation of Yangshan Deepwater Port, Shanghai has made a big step forward in the completing of becoming the international shipping center. The container throughput of Shanghai Port is more than 10 billion TEUs now and it ranked first in the world in 2009, expected to reelect to this position in 2010. It seems that Shanghai will rapidly become the international shipping center with out any barriers.
But port security still exist some hidden dangers. With the rapid increase of contain throughput, the amount of dangerous freight also increases dramatically. Informal means of transportation and handling will seriously threaten the security of ports and personal safety.. Shanghai transportation community is now facing a challenge of how to deal with the transportation of dangerous freight and maintain port security.
