Transfer: Student and Western Oregon University
Western Oregon University SEVIS Transfer I-20 Request
International students who are currently at another U.S. academic institution on an F-1 or J-1 student visa should use this form to notify their current school that they plan to transfer their
SEVIS I-20 to Western Oregon University.
Instructions:
If you are currently an international student in the United States at another academic institution on an F-1 or J-1 visa (including going from an English language institute to an academic program), the following steps are required:
1. Inform your current international student adviser that you plan to transfer and when you plan to transfer. Show them your acceptance letter to Western Oregon
University
2. Your current international student adviser must confirm your transfer, and enter your transfer with the intended transfer date into SEVIS.
3. Complete Part 1 of the attached “Transfer I-20 Request” form and submit it to your current international student adviser so they can complete Part 2.
4. Your international student adviser must complete Part 2 and fax or mail the completed form to:

5. Your SEVIS record can only be accessed AFTER your transfer date to create your new I-20 or DS-2019. A new I-20/DS-2019 cannot be issued until after the selected “transfer release date” has been reached. Additionally, a new I-20 or DS-2019 may not be issued until all required documents, such as transcripts and financial statements, have been received and evaluated by WOU. We will notify you if you need submit additional documentation.
