Train industry was one of the most important industries in the modern human culture since it was a very useful way to transport goods and people, which was the concern of many scientists in the last 2000 years. Matthew Murray and George Stephenson made great contributions in the train industry. Matthew invented the first steam powered locomotive train while George came up with the idea of coal transporting trains. Old trains were depending on steam for power. In 1829, the Rocket was the first steam locomotive train built and it carried passengers between Liverpool and Manchester in England. In 1940s, another steam train was built but with very strong engines that it could pull freight trains with hundreds of cars of cargo across the United…

The Great Depression was a very difficult time in American history. The Great Depression was the longest and most severe depression that was experienced in the Western World. The movie Riding the Rails is a good example of times during this depression. The movie presents a story of ten men and women in their youth, who gave their accounts about leaving their homes in search of a better life. I think Riding the Rails gives a very clear and accurate view of how life was for young teenagers during these historical times.…

    Riding the Rails

The Great depression caused time for everybody, but I think it was especially difficult for men since they were the ones responsible for making the money for food and thing for the families. This forced many of them to leave their homes in search of work, most just ride the railroads in search of work. These men were dubbed the “Hobos”. Riding the rails was also dangerous. Some left to troubled families, other because it seemed a great adventure. More than two million men, teenage runaways, and hobos were living on the road in America. Most of the people that ride the rails were and teen runaways. Jobs that existed for decades were simply not available anymore, and teenagers and men were forced to go searching for work far away in order to feed their families at home. In the 1930s, more than 250,000 teens were riding the rails, traveling illegally from town to town in search of adventure, and a food. One story that I read about riding the rails was about a guy named Henry Koczar, from East Chicago. He was 19 years old when he left his family. Being part of a big family makes hard on his parents to put food on the table every day. Henry wanted only for his family to have it a little bit easier and felt he was old enough now to start working on his own. So in September of 1932 he took off on a train in hopes of lighten the trouble on his family. Now not all of the hobos were out of high school and ready for work. Some of them were just kids when they started life on their own. Most of these stories don’t really have too much sadness in them but it was tough on them all no matter what the location. Once they got out there they found work wasn’t as available as they’d hoped it would be. Some towns didn't even want them around at all and they were actually and in words forced out of them. So the sound of seeing the world had a whole new meaning once they were in…

    Athletic Training

Athletic training is a career that can only be practiced by athletic trainers. This is because all jobs in the athletic field play a specific part and a different role in athletics (Albohm, 2009). Another reason why athletic training is only practiced by athletic trainers is because many people confuse physical therapists and with athletic trainers. The difference is that physical therapists are therapist who treats injuries or dysfunctions with exercises and other physical treatments of the disorder. An athletic trainer is a certified health care professional who practices in the field of medical athletic training. In the field of athletic training, the main goal is to prevent, diagnose, and treat injuries and illnesses of any kind dealing with sports. Athletic trainers work with people of all ages and all skill levels, from young children to soldiers and professional athletes. The reason why athletic trainers work with people of different backgrounds, is because they work in many different job settings. According to the National Athletic Trainers’ Association these job settings may consist of working in colleges and universities, hospitals and clinics, occupational, military, performing arts, physician extender, professional sports, public safety, and secondary schools. But some of main job settings that they work in are college universities, hospitals, physician extenders, professional sports, secondary schools, and the military. As the career of athletic training advanced into a medical profession, many job settings have required athletic trainers to be a part of their programs and be a major service for care and assistance (Albohm, 2009).…

Not to say that a Community College is your first choice, but it can definitely be an option. Furthermore, If you are deciding to major in Athletic Training, you have to get accepted to the college first and then the Athletic Training program.
