We are all aware of the illnesses that are developing in our community. Obviously, this is not genetic because it is attacking various members of our community and has done personal research to link the illnesses to our surrounding environment. I have found information in which the community should be aware. After extensive research, I have discovered the symptoms are because of the gas company not following proper procedures while digging in our community. I have spent several months coming to the solution and connecting the problem to the gas company. I first expecting it was something in the water because it seems to be affecting more people in neighborhoods closer to the drilling sites. I am afraid to inform everyone that it will be in all our drinking water before soon.…

Some years pass, and several children and adults in the community start developing extensive and similar illnesses. You think this is clearly not a case of genetics, and become suspicious that something must have gone wrong in the development planning and execution of your community. You start researching and investigating possible causes for the illnesses plaguing the community and, upon digging further, find out that the gas company’s practices may be to blame for the calamity. You decide, at that point, to spread the word around your community about your findings so that everyone can unite in a fight for justice.…

It is with great concern that I am writing this letter to address the public health of our community. Recently, there have been a number of children and adults who have strangely started to develop similar illnesses. The one thing each of these people has in common is that they all live right here in our community. My feels were that these sudden illnesses were not a matter of coincidence but instead a matter or poor practice. This feeling has proven to be accurate. Upon further investigation, it is has come to light that the reckless policies of our local gas company are endangering the health of our community. Contamination testing done on our water supply as well as soil tests shows extremely high amounts of a toxic chemical that is used by the gas company. This chemical that the company is releasing into our community has been linked to various illnesses that are similar to the ones experienced by our citizens. Interviews with two former employees of the gas company reveal that they were aware of this chemical leaking into our community water supply but the issue continually got swept under the rug. It was these employees belief that the company felt there was not enough of the toxic chemical being leaked to cause health problems. They are not aware as to how our local gas company came up with this irresponsible solution but we are aware as to how it has caused life-threatening illness among our community. Management at the company had no response when asked if they were aware of contamination so it is apparent that we must speak out as a community. Although not all of you have been affected by this shocking behavior, you are bound to be in the future unless we take the appropriate steps. We must unite together and demand changes in the company’s policies so that they are no longer poisoning the citizens of our tight knit community. We shall not give up this fight until we have reached a solution that keeps our health the…

Modern health emphasize that the health care professionals understand the many issues that surround the individual from a biological, psychological and sociological perspective and recognize factors that can put their health at risk. – Health Promotion page xiii. From this point of view the definition of health and even the meaning of health can create confusion as different individuals, different societies will have their understanding based on the current needs. In 1940s as the infectious diseases claimed the lives of some many children and young adult, health was perceived as the absence of the disease. After the World War ii health become linked to a person’s ability to fulfill their role in society as the national economy expand. As a result a person might recover from a disease but might not be able to fulfill their family or work role due to changes from their illness. In 1960s due to governments attempt to control spending and health care costs, nurses were more engaged in educating individuals in their responsibilities and life style choices that could affect their health. More recently, in 1992 more emphasis has been put on the quality of person’s life as a component of health.( page 4 health promotion) As a result, Health Promotion has been introduced in order to enable health care professionals to understand the issues that surrounds the individuals, families and communities in social, work and family settings, including the biological, inherited, cognitive, psychological, environmental and sociocultural factors can put their health at risk and develop intervention to support them.( Health promotion xiii).…

There has been an odd rise in similar and extensive illnesses in not only adults but children as well. This is becoming quite a concern for many of the residents in this community because that just means a rise in their chances of catching the illness to. If our community does not resolve the problem as soon as possible it will continue to spread and possibly affect the entire community. Upon further investigation into the reasoning or cause of this problem, I have found a legitimate reason why this is happening. I have discovered that the cause may be from the gas company’s malpractices either before the community came together or sometime afterwards. I found my reasoning by keeping an open mind and investigated any and every possibility there could be. The gas companies practices are the only issue I have found that could cause a problem such as the one in our community. As well, once I found that reasoning I looked also into the illnesses and what could have possibly caused them, and again I found that the problem with the gas company is the root cause for the illnesses. I have begun to spread the word about my discovery to make everyone in the community aware of the issue that has led to our problem. I believe that with the strength of our entire community we can unite and fight for our justice against the gas company who has caused our community such a great problem. My first idea in the fight for our justice is to go straight to the gas company and explain our findings and demand them to do something about the issue to help fix the problem. If our community cannot seem to meet an agreement with the gas company, I say we take it to a higher level. We need to possibly approach the mayor of our town or even the court system if we must. We need to keep our viewpoints open and not stick to what we think is going to resolve the problem because one idea may not instantly resolve our problem. We not only need to resolve the issue with the gas…
