Toddlers Vs Teenagers
Toddlers vs. Teenagers Teenagers and toddlers are no longer being treated as individuals with their own needs. Each child’s parents are able to use modern technology to see if their kids are “advanced” or not. Toddlers are both underestimated and overestimated in certain areas and teenagers are expected to meet high expectations in order to succeed. Teens and toddlers have much in common, such as, their methods of entertainment, their temperament, and what is expected of them. Teens and toddlers are surprisingly similar in what they do for entertainment. They both enjoy cartoons, though the maturity levels of these cartoons vary. Both teens and toddlers enjoy SpongeBob Squarepants and, by some, Pokémon. There are also some that are primarily enjoyed by only one demographic. Toddlers tend to enjoy cartoons like Dora the Explorer, Bubble Guppies, and other shows aimed at the younger audiences. Teenagers, however, enjoy cartoons like anime, Family Guy, and The Simpsons. With modern technology readily available to almost everyone in first world countries, both teens and very young children are getting involved in social websites and massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs). Toddlers entering preschool are being taught how to write, a skill that their muscles are not quite developed enough yet for, resulting in improper grip on their writing utensil. This improper grip leads to difficulty writing for long periods of time and other problems. Both teenagers and toddlers are expected to fit a cookie-cutter mold of how they should behave or else they are overmedicated. If teenagers want to get into competitive colleges they have to take extremely advanced classes with large amount of homework and often sacrifice their mental, physical, and emotional well being as a
