Yet, does that mean that equality of chance does exist or more precisely, to what extent is higher education a way to preserve the Establishment? To answer this question, we will focus on the US and the UK.

2. The role of higher education: higher education can create an elite and this elite has key positions in our society. As a matter of fact, the better your education is, the more likely you are to get a responsible and influential job. It also transmits values of the society we live in.
3. Which sort of education did most members of the ruling class get? (public schools in England followed by prestigious highly selective universities which were free until recently but now, they can be very expensive + the Ivy League in the US=> aller voir dans les docs pour des exemples )

However, higher education is no longer the privilege of the ruling class.
