Time Log Reflection

Over the past week I have learned many things about my time management. I have realized that although I do spend time completing my assignments and preparing for classes, I could manage my time more wisely. A large amount of time was spent doing nothing productive and that time could have been spent better preparing for my math test that I had last Friday. I could have also managed my time better over the weekend and made time to work on assignments from my classes.
Some techniques and tools that I can use to better manage my time are to create a schedule or to use a reward system. If I create a schedule and start with the things I cannot change, such as my classes, then I can build the rest of my schedule around that. This way I can make sure that there will be enough time for the things that need to be done like studying and completing my assignments. I can set a certain number of tasks to complete per day and if I complete those tasks then I can do something I like to do for fun such as hanging out with my friends, watching tv, or being on the computer. Using activities that I actually want to do as a reward should motivate me to complete the activities that I need to do.
I do not usually put much thought into how I spend my time, but now that I have seen how few hours are actually in a day I will try to put more thought into my daily activities. I want to make every minute count and I don’t want to let a second go to waste. This time log has helped me see what I spend the majority of my time on and has made me realize that I need to put more of my focus on academic work and less of it on my friends. I can also put more attention on my overall health and should make more time for exercising so that I stay healthy which will also help me focus better on my studies. A good way to make sure that my time dedicated to school work is used effectively is to go to the library or a quiet space during that time so that I can get the most done

When I look back on how I spend my time I see that my current time management skills can use some improvements. Although I still seem to find some time to get my assignments done even if it means doing them late at night. After keeping record on how I use my time for a week, I see that most of my time is spent out with my friends doing unproductive activities. I think I spend a lot of time with my friends do to the fact that I rather not study or do homework during the day because it is boring and I get distracted easily. With that being said, being with my friends takes up most of my day, so by the time I get home to do any homework or even a small amount of studying it is already pretty late and…

When I write down everything it helps me stay on track. My support group consists of my fiancé, my parents, my friend and my co-workers. In order to begin using your time effectively, you need to assess how you are using it currently. By evaluating how your time is spent, you can see how much you are already using and how you are using it. Next, a decision needs to be made on which activities hold the highest and lowest priorities. Tasks that are not moveable, and have a deadline are usually of the highest priority, (paying bills, going to work, attending class etc.). Tasks that contribute to personal relationships, long term goals and projects that have no…

I always find that there is too much to do and not enough time to do it. Because time is so limited, learning how to manage time is crucial. The most basic way to start is by getting in the habit of making "To-Do" lists on a daily basis. This is a simple way to organize my plans for each day when I have multiple tasks to do. Of course keeping this habit would not be easy for me, because as it becomes part of my regular environment, most likely, I would simply forget to notice my list. A good way to remember my "To-Do" lists is to place it where it would easily be seen and grab my attention, like taping it to my car radio or keeping it in my wallet. I will also have to prioritize daily tasks in a way where I can use my biggest margin of time to do my most important tasks because taskes that are less critical do not requires as much energy or thought. This will allow me to insure that more important task get done. Using effective time management practices will help me to ensure quality use of my time as well as learning…

As I monitored my activities during the last three days, I noticed bad habits along the way. As noted on the time sheet, I take about 2 hours to do my homework. However, between those two hours, I take about five minutes or 10 minutes to take check an email, social media site or take a glance at the television. I am certain that if I were productive for two hours doing my homework, I would have probably finished most, if not all, of my homework for the week. Reflecting back on my time sheet, I noticed how much free time I have.…

Time management has been a long time problem for me. I have always found excuses for not doing things on time or running late. My main excuse is being involved in so many things as a college student. All of this is true, but it shouldn't be an excuse. I currently work as a lifeguard between classes, tutor nights and weekends, work at a bar weekends, I hold a vice president position in American Marketing Association, I am a member of Society for Human Resource Management, team captain for Cleveland State's division I swim team, and I am co-president for Student Athletic Advisory Board. Good time management is needed for all these extras. If I could improve my time management skills I think I would get better in most things that I do. I would be able to enhance my…

In any event, time is a nonrenewable source and the words time management can call forth images of restriction and control. Those words do not have to call forth those images if someone knows how to schedule their time properly. Now, most students think that they do not have enough time for everything they want to do but they do have the time; all it takes is learning a few good ways to manage time. One very effective way for scheduling time is to write it down. When doing so, schedule fixed blocks of time first; for instance, schedule work and school first because these time periods are usually determined in advance. Also, schedule essential daily activities, such as eating, sleeping and showering next but be realistic about how much time is needed for these activities. Additionally, do not…
