Tim Beal's Essay 'Biblical Recreation'
There are concepts from the Morgan reading from last week that help us think about Holy Land USA. Last week Morgan talked more about "visual piety" which for him his religious focus was more visual as like in the head of Jesus. This week in Tim Beal's essay "Biblical Recreation", he is more concerned about what could be thought of as "spacial piety". The concepts that bring both together are for Morgan the bible means more by the visual images the word of God invokes. However, for someone like Beal when the Word is present in a visual manner it has more meaning for him. I believe Beal would say when someone acts out the Word in the form of a play people get more meaning from it. Both Morgan and Beal would say when we acknowledge how
