The courses and language were too hard for me to take all at once. I was still young so I thought I was always right and my parents were wrong. Due to my ignorance, I would argue with them all the time about leaving school. One day after school I turned on my iPod then buried my face in my pillow and started shuffling through songs until, like a miracle, my lifeline came in the form of Eminem’s “Till I Collapse”: “Sometimes you just feel tired, feel weak. When you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up. But you gotta search within you. Gotta find that inner strengthand just pull that shit outta you and get that motivation, to not give upand not be a quitter. No matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse."Those words described exactly how I felt at the moment, and it made me realize how I couldn’t give up so easily. I had to make my parents proud of me, and I knew I had to step up and persevere through challenges in a new environment. Ever since that day, I started listening to Till I Collapse
