Old Testament: Genesis 1:1-3:24, The Creation and Fall
-All things created came into account through the works of God, and only Him. God controls all works of life, and without Him, there is nothing. Although all of these creations are indeed miraculous, how is it that God knew to create them? What told God to do so, or is there a who? God tells Adam and Eve to “have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air…”, but I wonder if this is what leads to the humans’ unrighteous temptations, because they are mistaken, thinking they override all, including God.
Genesis 4:1-15, The First Murder
-Adam and Eve together raised their two sons Cain and Abel, who both offered their own items to God. God respected Abel’s sacrifice of sheep, but I do not understand why He did not respect Cain’s fruit. Either way, it caused Cain to lose faith in God, and he became jealous of Abel, to which he killed. This act is important to the Bible, I believe, because it shows the corruption of man before God, and how early it began.
Genesis 6:5-9:17, The Flood
-Generations of Cain multiplied, creating trauma and wreckage on the Earth, and God sees this, believing He must end the race of all humans. In the story of Noah, it becomes obvious to Christians (as an example) that it is best to follow the Lord, because once you do, you receive all that you need in happiness, violence and sadness aside. The sons of Noah began to replenish the Earth of people after the flood. The Bible states that it (the fowl of men) “grieved him at his heart”. This is interesting because I always saw God as knowing everything always, so why was he surprised by this? Also, God originally indicates that He is going to destroy ball of the animals of the world, and it’s almost as if he reconsiders his decision once recognizing Noah. This almost compares God to man just by God’s shown thought process.
