Three Steps Towards a Healthy Lifestyle
I have found that living a healthy lifestyle has many definitions and it all depends on where and what you read. For example, in “Lifestyle Magazine” the definition of living a healthy lifestyle means having balance in all areas of one’s life. Let’s take a look at three factors of living a healthy lifestyle , eating right, exercising regularly, and keeping your mind calm and content.

First, eating right is not about avoiding fatty foods, cutting down on caffeine and taking out an expensive gym membership. It just means that you should consider how certain foods will affect your body. Plan and stay in control of your eating habits, don’t eat anything heavy after six o’clock in the evening. Eat in moderation do not gorge yourself, and then skip a few meals to make up for it. Keep things in proportion, such as maybe eating a light healthy breakfast and lunch, and then having a slightly heavier food for dinner. Therefore, you will not become hungry in the middle of the night and there is room for a light snack such as fruit. Remember this doesn’t mean that you have to become a health food nut, it is simply a way of having control over you food intake.

Second, exercising regularly is another important part to a healthy lifestyle. You should exercise a minimum of 3 days a week for about 20 minutes. This does not mean that you have to have a strict regiment of exercise in your daily schedule. An easy way to attain a nice amount pf physical activity would be to begin going for walks with a friend or even a pet. It is also good to stretch before you begin any kind of exercise. Stretching enables you to do more than you would without stretching. When you do not stretch before you exercise joints grow less flexible over time. Less flexibility means less range of movement in your daily life, like bending down or twisting to pick up something. Always remember that when you stretch your warming up your muscles, and what ever exercise you choose will be

Possibly the most important thing in leading a healthy life is learning how to eat right. Did you know that about 90% of Americans believe that their diet is somewhat healthy, but over half of the population is overweight? This shows that most people are unaware of how bad their diet actually is. In order to improve diets, you must first take baby steps and learn that sometimes more is less. It is recommended that people eat 4-5 averagely portioned meals a day compared to the 2 giant meals to which most are…
