Cause and Effect Essay

Living in a Foreign Country

Living away from home your country can be a really interesting and unforgettable experience, but at the same time it has very important effects on our life. I moved to U.S in 2005 and that was a hard decision to leave my country. I was only 18 years old and I had no life experience. Then, everything changed, for the best I think. One effect is that once I started a regular life away from home, I miss everything. This fact does not mean that I am unhappy but that I am aware of being on my own. Missing my family and the attention that they all paid to me is very usual detail. Details like sitting on Sunday morning watching TV with my brother or having a nice chat with my mom makes me realize how valuable family really is. I miss all the facilities that I used to have back home, like my house, my bed and my bathroom. Other effect is learning how to accept a different type of society and culture in my daily life. This is a country with different customs and traditions from mine. I had to make new friends, learned other points of views, and accepted people opinion and value. The language was the most difficult to get used to it and to learn. Instead listen my native language all the time; I had to listen people talking in English. The most significant effect of living way from home is the independence behavior that had grows inside of me. Living on my own far from my family gives me a lot of experiences toward organizing my life. I have to go to school, clean my room, wash my clothes and pay all my bills, this is means that I have a good responsibility. Being independent and responsible helps me get through life every goal that I want to achieve. Living far from home, can be really hard at the beginning. I have to remember that all changes are difficult, but they are necessary to go through. Most

Indeed, moving to United states was not easy as I expected but it was fun and exciting. I did not know before why my parents wanted me to face new experiences, but now I understand that everything they were doing and still doing for me is an expression for their love to me. I still remember the day when my mom cut my hair, I was sad, I did not know why she wanted to do that, but today I realize that it was an experience of love, she wanted to show me that I was not making right choices when I used to go out without telling her. When I got here to United States, I did not speak english and I felt as my life started over because I could not talk or do anything since the…

Most people have moved before sometime in their life. For me, it was only two times. The first move was an international move from Vietnam to the United States of America, when I was barely 8 months old. At the time, it was just my mom, dad, and me, moving across the world to start a new life. Something I have learned from moving is that it is hard to change your life, home, and environment but if you give it some time, nothing is impossible.…

Growing up in the country is like a fresh breath of air, you need it but once you've taken it in your life gets infinity better. Like air, everyone needs family, someone to take care of or even to take care of you. There is no place to do that better than the country, there you can have both. I've had personal experience with growing up in the country and it is because of growing up where I did that made me the person I am today. Growing up in the country I always had my family not matter what, making those connections made it easy to stay connected to my family even now when we all don't live so close. I am one out of eight children also one of the oldest which meant I had to help with the younger siblings. I didn't mind, doing it actually helped me gain a great relationship with each of my siblings. Living out in the country not only gave me a chance to be with my brothers and sisters, but also my mother and father. I remember helping my father with the animals; horses, cows, chickens, you name it we had it.…

It has changed my life. Many people from different countries come to United States and drastically change within in a short time period. I have changed a lot from the kind of person I was before, but I think I have changed in an extremely good way. In my country women are told what to do. They do not get the respect they deserved. Mostly they are looked down by the society. In America you are independent. You are free to whatever you desire. I think now that I am in college I can understand better why my parents moved here. They wanted me to have a better education, freedom, and more opportunity. Now I would say that moving to United States was the best thing that ever happened to me. Thanks to my parents. In America, I decide how my future will turn out to be. It is up to me to use my independence with responsibility. My journey to America has given me the best experience anyone could ever…
