We have a democratic government, which means that we give everyone the freedom to have his or her voice and opinion heard. Although, forty-one percent of Canadian citizens don not exercise his or her right to vote for whom they want to represent them in the Government. That is a choice that those individuals made, they could if they wanted to but some people don’t care. Our Prime Minister, Stephen Harper has done a great job by keeping our economy from failing, he also keeps most Canadians satisfied in the eight years he has ruled. We get lots of tourists each year because of our gorgeous Niagara Falls, our national parks, our mountains, and our lakes. Canada has the longest coastline and largest water area. Canada has approximately 10,000,000 miles of land and water, second largest in the world. Canada has more then one hundred national parks and historic sites. There are lots of things you can do here such as; snowboarding, snowmobiling, skiing, fishing, boating, hiking, camping and the list goes on and on. Canada has experienced some of the coldest temperatures ever record. Our weather is so unpredictable, one minute it is sunny the next its snowy. We can experience snow, rain, hail, and sunshine all in one day! Maybe that is why I love it here so much, because the weather is so

Some have argued that over the past nearly 150 years, Canada has matured and evolved into a "nation" in the sense that it has become "a community of the imagination. " That definition sees a nation as a place where the people within its borders display a sense of common identity, and agree on certain values. I agree to this argument as applied to Canada's evolution since 1867. Canada's identity and values started out very weak after Confederation in 1867. We begin to fully develop a stronger Canadian identity throughout the 150 years, when changes has taken place.…

You could think of it as a big family, us Canadians. Some of canada's favourite team are Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks, Ottawa Senators and so on. What all these teams have in common is that they can all cooperate together to perform an honourable game. Whether you like hockey or not, if you live in Canada it is a part of who you are. Compare, critically, the organization of Government in Canada and the United States. The parliamentary system is constructed of the crown, executive and legislative branch. The constitution monarchy is that the the Crown which is the Queen is represented by the GG. The executive branch are the PM and the Cabinet, in the Parliamentary system, they are elected members of the parliament. The legislative branch is parliament includes the opposition. Being Canadian is not to be taken lightly. It includes so many amazing qualities, one of them happens to be its diverse ethnicity. As anthropologist Fredrik Barth has argued, “a marker of the boundaries between groups; or as a fluctuating combination of all of these, “ethnic” – or “ethnicity” – has been a key shaper of Canadian culture.” Ethnic backgrounds are mixed which makes Canada hard to define. In other countries a lot of people don’t accept ethnic minorities. In Canada, we treasure the various cultures that reside here. The more ethnic background we incorporate into our society the richer we will be. To learn the various traditions of surrounding cultures educates humanity.…
