This Boy's Life Character Analysis
In This Boy’s Life by Tobias Wolff, Toby is influenced by the people around him and makes choices that he wouldn’t make the same choices when the people he loves aren’t around him. Toby’s mother is at work and tries to have an income for her son but it leaves Toby by himself or with Dwight and his family which isn’t the best plan. “He leaned across the table and slapped my face. He didn’t swing hard but the slap was loud.” (202). Dwight and Toby had many conflicts with each other but it was never a violent action between them. There was a point in when Dwight just got so fed up with Toby that he had to just to release some of emotions.
