INTRODUCTION (Background)

Early relationship comes up with unexpected situations in life. When a couple is engaging into
Sexual activities and they don’t know how to limit their selves, there’s a big possibility that it will lead them to early parenthood. As a young or a teenager, we should know how to control ourselves to the things that might affect our living for a lifetime.

Because of the so called “LOVE”, the couple became intimate to each other. And due to their extreme feelings, they are starting to do thing below the belt. They forget that they are young and have limitations. CURRENT PROBLEMS/ ISSUES:

There are common issues about youth or teenagers engaging some activities that the society is not in favor of. And base on our research, there is evidence supporting the Reproductive Health Law that calls for Sexuality Education among young students. Yes, it is not right to be engaged in premarital sex. In the reason of not just because marriage is sacrament, but also because youth of very young ages has undeveloped feminine cells and there might be a big possibility that the young girls carrying a baby in her womb “DIES” when she give birth.

IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY:

Early pregnancy is one of the most common issue of today’s generation caused by the misbehavior and uncontrolled act by teens. It is important to study about this alarming issue to briefly understand what possible effects they might face. Looking forward to this, teens should be open to their parents to have their guidance enable to learn the risk of being to that situation. The researchers conducted this study to give the teenagers information to prevent the risk of early parenthood. Teen pregnancies carry extra health risk to both mother and baby. Often, teens don’t get prenatal care soon enough, which can lead to problems later on. They can have higher risk for pregnancy-related high blood pressure and its complications. Risk for the baby includes premature birth and a low birth weight.

DEFINITION OF TERMS:

Teenager – it is the stage of going adolescence or maturity. Is a young person whose age falls

within the range from 13 years old to 19 years old. It is called teenager because of

the number ends with “TEENS”.

Teenage Pregnancy – having a birth under the age of 20. A pregnant can take place in a pubertal

female before menarche, which is the signals that in a possibility of fertility, but

usually occurs after menarche.

Early Parenthood – is the state of being a parent under the age of 20.

Sex Education – it is the study of human sexuality including human sexual anatomy, sexual

reproductive health, emotional relations, reproductive rights and

responsibilities, abstinence and birth control.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

This study aims to know the perception of the students of the LYCEUM of the
PHILIPPINES UNIVERSITY CAVITE- Campus towards the awareness on teenage pregnancy. Specifically, to seek the answers on how much they are aware on the effects of teenagers avoid pregnancy, on how they could avoid early parenthood and what advices they can give to their fellow Lyceans to avoid teenage pregnancy.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY:

The study is done by the help of 50 selected college students of the LYCEUM of the PHILIPPINES UNIVERSITY CAVITE- Campus. The wide range of teenage pregnancy was not nearly discussed but only on how sex education help teenagers, how can they deal about it and to show the point of views of these students on teenage pregnancy.

METHODOLOGY:

HOW TO GATHER DATA:

The research is done to determine the perception of the selected students of the LYCEEUM of the PHILIPPINES UNIVERSITY CAVITE- Campus on the awareness of teenage pregnancy. The survey questionnaire is conducted with close ended questions answered by 50 selected students. The information gathered in the surveys will be interpret by the researchers to the views of the respondents.

USED INSTRUMENTS:

The researchers used questionnaires for collecting data’s. The questionnaires is composed of the profile of the respondents in terms of name and ages, and their views on how to avoid teenage pregnancy, how could sex education help teenagers to avoid teenage pregnancy and to see how the respondents are aware on their issue. I get that we have to make practical, numbers based arguments to win policy. But they should back up our actual beliefs. There are a ton of reasons sex education is great, and they can be framed around why there are a ton of positive outcomes when people are informed. We don’t need to make the argument in a way that seems designed to shame pregnant and parenting.

ANALYSIS ON GATHERED INFORMATION: This info graphic collects a lot of important data about teen sexuality and sex education. Some absolutely agreed of needing to know comprehensive Sex Education, and this survey includes a lot of evidence why. Part of that is the high rate of unintended pregnancies among teens. But this entire survey is framed around preventing teens from getting pregnant.

DISCUSSION:

INTERPRETATION:

Engaging to an early relationship that ends up with early pregnancy is a long- term

responsibility for young couple like youths and teenagers. As a youth, we must limit ourselves

to do things that might give us bad results. Having a baby is really a blessing but, it is given for

someone who deserves is most. Having a baby for young age might affect the reproductive

health of both parties, but mostly to the one who carries the child in her womb which is the girl.

It might cause death of both mother and child because of the undeveloped body of the carrier.

It is used to be aware and careful about this so called issue because some teenagers nowadays

is not controlling their lust for sexual activities.
