Introduction
According to Davis (2006), She defined leadership as the ability to persuade others to seek defined objective enthusiastically .it is the human factor which binds a group together and motivate it toward goal. She also concludes that leadership is one of the essential functions that must be performed by all of the managers. She say that success of all managers largely depend on the capacity to lead their subordinates. Leadership is the process of influencing and supporting others to work enthusiastically toward achieving objectives, keys and case (2006). Leadership is about manipulating people to get them to do something they don’t want to do, and there may not be anything in it for them. Adam and Scott (2006). Importance of leadership internationally, the researcher has rightly stated that leadership is about how leaders get extraordinary things done in organization. Leadership is a relationship between leader and followers. Leadership is not only about leaders it is also about followers. Leaders are more than excellent executives or managers. They make things happen to achieve organizational goals and influence planned change and organizational renewal .all managers are not necessarily leaders but if they are high performance managers. They exercise effective leadership with the world of work in transition .such leadership requires managers to transform the work environment through people, beginning with their own self development. The leadership challenge in organizations today is to learn how to capitalize on human assets to enhance a system effectiveness managers confront this task during times of un-presented change when the use of technology increases and it cost seemingly decreases (Harris). Leadership means that leaders are more active, get more done and generally function like hurricane each time they arrive at the office or participate in a meeting.     When one reflects on whether leaders are born or made, it is important to define what a leader is as well as to distinguish between a leader in management and a leader in another field of expertise. “Leadership and management are two distinctive yet complementary systems of action.”(Story Cover, 1993). Because “management power comes from organizational structure, it promotes stability, order and problem solving within the structure. Leadership power, on the other hand, comes form personal sources that are not as invested in the organization, such as personal interests, goals and values. Leadership power promotes vision, creativity and change in the organization” (Samson and Daft, 2005). Management centres on handling complexity and Leadership are to face the new challenges (Story, 1993). For example, in peacetime, an army can train very well under good management, but there is no one who can manage people into battle, the soldiers of course will led by leaders (Story, 1993). “Management is a skill that can be learned, Leadership is a calling”(Shea, cited in Story, 1993, p.34). Shea acknowledges, “Some leadership qualities can be learned, but only if the 'raw material' exists” (Shea, cited in Story, 1993, p.34).
