Thesues’ parents were Aegeus, who was King of Athens, and Aethra. When Aethra had fled away on their wedding night to be with another man, Aegeus decided to go back to Athens. Theseus was then a mix of both fathers, one who was mortal and one who was immortal. Before Aegeus left he buried his sandals and sword and told Aethra to tell Theseus when he was older and stronger to move the rock. He was raised in his mothers homeland. When Theseus was old enough he moved the rock and discovered what was left under it. Aethra told him the truth about his fathers identity and who he was. Once he found out this information he went to Athens to meet him. His father did not recognize him but his new wife, Medea, surely did. She invited him to dinner and gave him a poisoned wine glass and just as he was about to drink it, Aegeus saw the sword Theseus had and then knew that that was his son. Theseus then went to Crete with the 13 others to try and defeat the minotaur in the labyrinth. He volunteered to go first and King Minos’ daughter, Ariadne, gave him a ball of thread to guide him through the maze and a dagger. When he arrived inside the labyrinth he made his way to the middle and blinded the minotaur with his torch and climbed on it and drove the dagger right into him. When he was going back to Athens he forgot to hoist the white sail and his father saw this and threw himself into the sea and died. Theseus then married Ariadne’s sister Phaedra. Theseus also had a son with a wife from his pastnamed Hippolytus.…

However, having listened to my brother speaks of his recent years at Florida Atlantic University and his love for Full Sail, the two schools hold a certain mystical quality to me. Knowing that the type of education I will receive at FAU does not fit who I am neither what I am looking and the dreams I flourish for; Full Sail has long been the cynosure for my desired collegiate experience.
