Theme Of Just Lather That's All
“Just lather that's all” has strong ties towards the world past and current. My topic for critical connections assignment is “Are morals more important than what is best?”. This theme in just lather that's all can be seen in WWII when American and British armies would choose whether they would bomb German concentration camps and the trains leading to them. As this would stop Germans from killing them by concentration camps and give a chance for prisoners to escape and stop delivery of prisoners to the camp but killing countless victims in the process in the camp or on the tracks. It ties with Just Lather, That's All if the barber killed the officer there would be fewer executions and fewer deaths of prisoners but he decides not to because it is a sin in his religion.
In WWII they would not bomb the tracks because they believed food to the camps would arrive by train and by bombing the railways would cause hardship among the prisoners. Bombing the camp itself was also denied because it would be too much of a risk to the prisoners even though Jewish agency requested the allies bomb Auschwitz. I can see it when in WWII the people wanted to bomb the concentration camps but the government didn't want to but seeing what the police officer got for shooting a person being used as a meat shield I can see what backlash could have come from bombing the camp even though it might have done well. I can also see what would have happened if the officer didn't shoot the terrorist because he had a gun as well and if the officer didn't shoot the criminal he would have got shot first and might have hurt more
