Theme Of Evil In The Scarlet Letter
Most people go through life without realizing the true evil in the world, because it’s hidden under a blanket of ignorance. A prime example of this happen throughout The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, where the townspeople decided what's unrighteous based on personal beliefs. Hester Prynne faces many different kinds of evil throughout her journey, but she doesn’t let it deface her. The atmosphere, the townspeople forms an ideal breeding ground for evil to sprout, because they are so blinded by their sin that it can’t even be seen. Evil seeps it way into the story from many sources, including inner conterflictions of the townspeople and Chillingworth’s thirst for vengeance showing that in the world the one who is pointed the villain,
