But she could not talk to him because of Steven. She had to take care of him, and not be away from the house very long. But when she started making bad choices and her brother starts to get restless she becomes closer to Dave but further away from her family. She stopped coming home at her curfew of three o'clock, and started to come home at seven. This change would affect her entire family, her brother would become even more abusive. This internal conflict, that Daisy's life is revolved around Steven, helps support the major conflict. Daisy is so cautious, that she can't do anything with her life until her family finds the solution that they have to send Steven away.
The climax of the novel comes when Daisy decides to let Steven go. At this point, the man vs man conflict that the novel had is over, Daisy had gotten over the grief, loneliness, and despair she felt when her family sent Steven away. When Daisy let Steven go, she was actually able to be happy and learn that she do everything she could not when Seven was in their home, which shows the resolution of the conflict in the novel.
