The Wonders of Nature
My Love For You
© Matthew Dusfim
The Bit by bit and day by day
In such a special lovely way
Do not know why or how to say
But I shall try to... If I may

And thus I shall try to explain
That despite heavy pouring rain
In times of sorrow and of pain
My love for you was not in vain

When I was down and even sad
If I felt angry rather mad
If I was in tears feeling bad
My love for you I did not dread

I was insulted even mocked
My same own life I feel was blocked
The doubts that came and often knocked
My love for you was safely locked

Until the day you came to me
The love in me you did not see
Without you dear how could I be?
My love for you I could not free

And yet you know I still love you
A love that’s strong and oh so true
Wher’ver you go wher’ver to
My love for you will follow too

You
© Meagen Deitz
Would you care if we quit talking
Would you care if I went walking
I need to know how you feel
So I know how to deal
I like it when your by my side
I hate it when you try to hide
All the cheating and the lies
Brings me one step closer to saying goodbye
I know the cheating is a fact because I've caught you in the act
I wish I had more trust in you but it's kinda hard when I busted you
Seems to me you wouldn't care even if I wasn't there
I always wonder who your with hoping it's not another chick
I'm not saying I don't believe you it's just too many people have told me to leave you
But you are everything to me which is why I want you me to always be
Believing you may be a mistake but it's a risk I'm willing to take
I really love you, always know I do and remember there will always be a me and you
I Love The Way
© Margo
I love the way you tell me that I’m beautiful, and the way you make me laugh like no one else.
I love the way you move the hair away from my eyes, and then kiss me on my face.
I love the way when you take me to the park and put your hands around my waist as we watch the sunset

The film Into The Wild directed by Sean Penn consists in the journey of a young guy called Chris McCandless, a 23 year old who shows us from his point of view just how manipulated society is, based on silly rules and behaviours where studying, getting a job and material things are a priority. Therefore Chris decided to escape from this society to live into the wild, surrounded by nature as is the place where he feels comfortable. Undoubtedly one of the main aims of the film is the contrast between society and nature. To achieve this, the director uses different techniques such as the setting the more important one, lighting, camera angles, sound effects among others, which also help us to the understanding of the characters linking us to their feelings and behaviours.…

The effect of bounce height and drop height with a Titleist golf ball and Top Flight golf ball was observed from three different heights. The first golf ball used while conducting this experiment was the more expensive option, “Titleist”, which has a softer core and is therefore expected to have less bounce. The second golf ball used in this experiment was a ball with a different interior structure than the first. A less expensive brand, “Top Flite”, has a harder core, which is expected to have a higher bounce. Experienced golfers tend to purchase more expensive golf balls to improve their performance on the golf course. We dropped the two different golf balls from 60 inches, 96 inches, and 120 inches to determine if drop height had an effect on bounce height. The golf balls did not bounce the same height when dropped from different heights, which showed a positive correlation between bounce height and price of golf balls.…

    Nature and Society

In the article Earth, Nature and Culture, Yi-Fu Tuan commits a whole section to the relationship between nature and society. Tuan states that, “Human restlessness finds release in geographical mobility.” Tuan states that when telling the human story, it begins with nature. The article says that as humans we have very conflicting feelings towards nature. On one hand we realize that we need nature to survive. It provides us with food and shelter and most of our basic needs. On the other hand, nature has ways of destroying us. It can send disasters to completely throw off the human race. For example, nature can provide soil rich in nutrients that allows humans to plant and grow our own food to survive, but it can also send a drought causing the soil to dry out and our crops to die. According to Tuan, culture is how humans compensate for our conflicting feelings.…

Through my own experience as an avid outdoorsman, I find that Nature has many enjoyable activities to offer. Some of my friends like to go canoeing and some enjoy swimming in lakes, I find that my favorite outdoor sports are rock climbing, fly fishing and deer hunting. From the sweet smell of maple sap to all the little chirps, whistles and squeaks, I find myself completely relaxed when I am outside. It seems too often that the daily hustle and bustle of everyday work and school can leave a person stressed. Nature has a natural way of gently stimulating all of our senses and gives us something new to experience every day.…

    The Beauty of the Trees

Imagine a place with giant trees, tall bluffs overlooking the ocean, and green water lapping on the rocks below. The wind is cool and moist, the aroma of sea foam and grass fill the air, and water as far as the eye can see. Imagine this place and you have the Pacific Northwest, the home of Chief Dan George and the setting for his poem “The Beauty of the Trees. “ Chief Dan George was a leader of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation, a band of the Salish Indians located near coastal Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He was an Indian Chief, actor, writer, and poet. “The Beauty of the Trees,” one of his most famous poems, has an underlying theme that the simple things in nature should be appreciated. The title of the poem suggests the poem will be about trees or the forest; however, it is about more than that. George presents a speaker who emphasizes the connection between him and nature, and he wants the reader to feel the same passion he does. The reader imagines a simple life, a man cooking fresh salmon over a fire as the sun sets with the trees whispering in the distance. In the final verse, the line “and the life that never goes away, they speak to me” (lines 16 and 17) the reader connects nature and the speaker to the circle of life and knows it will all happen tomorrow as nature is reliable. The last line “and my heart soars” (line 18) implies the speaker is content with life because nature is beautiful, connected to his heart, and will be the same…

This line from a song I heard in Breaking Dawn Part 1 made its way to the Google search bar and just then I knew what the title of such a lovely piece is. Oh, all the feels! Isn’t it more pleasing to hear a “traditional” cheesy line with all the images, and figures of speech in it? I wish to post only my favorite lines in the song, but then as I read through it, every word matters:…

Many humans today rely on personal care products in order to look good, and smell good. It is no longer just about being hygienic, but also a way to attract other people. Everyone has their favorite personal care product that they love using to make their hair shinier, or their lips redder, but do humans ever consider what ingredients are in these products that we depend on in our everyday lives? After doing some research, it was interesting to find how many of the products humans use in their day-to-day lives which contain ingredients that are linked to cancer, learning disabilities, and asthma. Some ingredients in products like lipstick include lead, tin oxide, iron oxide, and titanium oxide. Many more products include chemicals and ingredients that have unknown health risks. These products do not only affect humans, but they affect the environment when manufacturing, packaging, and distributing the products. Although humans are still currently very unaware of how these toxic ingredients can affect the environment, scientists know that the ingredients of these products seep through human skin, into our bodies, and into human excretions which are later introduced into the environment. Another way is that these ingredients also can get washed down the drain when people wash their bodies, their hair, or when washing makeup off their faces. A number of these personal care ingredients have been found in rivers and streams. The chemicals contaminate the water and affect the hormones in many organisms (Safe Cosmetics Action Network). If the ingredients in these products are harming humans, what must be their impact on the environment and wildlife? Although this question is still not very clear today, some cosmetic corporations such as Aveda have taken a huge step in trying to help the environment by incorporating corporate responsibility into the manufacturing of their products.…

    Beautiful Nature

This painting by Pat Steir Figure 129 Pink Chrysanthemum is three panels of flowers. The background of these paintings is pink and the flowers are white. The first panel of the painting has three flowers in a green vase. The flowers are kind of blurry the way that the light shined on them, and are centered. The second panel has just a close up of a single flower. Its closer than the first panel and has way more detail of the flower. You almost feel like you can reach out and touch the flower sitting there. The third panel brings it even more closer than the second and it becomes even more beautiful than the other two. The atmosphere that the pinks and the shades of blue and green with the purples too makes me want to wrap up with a blanket and lay there and just look at it. Its very peaceful and pleasant to look at. To me the artist is telling everyone to take time out of their busy day and notice all the beautiful parts of nature. Look at everything in great detail and enjoy every part of your life from the smallest rosebud to the biggest tree giving you shade. What seems small at first can be something great and spectacular. Don’t waste a moment of your time enjoy nature and all its surroundings. Nature has so much to offer yet it so often gets ingored and put to the side for a rainy day. As we go about our busy days we don’t even have time to notice little things. This weekend I went to the mall with my daughter and she asked to go into the art gallery for Pablo Picaso where she pointed at three photos that she wanted me to buy for her room. It was so cute. This piece makes you feel like disappearing into a different place where there is a breeze flowing through your hair and a warm sun on your skin and these beautiful flowers all around. This painting is the first time that I have ever enjoyed myself fully while looking at a painting. The light colors of this painting suggests something good is…
