The Westing Game
The title of my book is The Westing Game. The author of my book is Ellen Raskin. The main characters in the book are Sam Westing, Madame Sun Lin Hoo, Jake Wexler, Turtle Wexler, Flora Baumbauch, Chris Theodorakis, D. Denton Deere, Alexander McSouthers, J.J. Ford, Grace Wexler, James Shin Hoo, Berthe Erica Crow, Julian R. Eastman, Amber Otis, Theo Theodorakis, Doug Hoo, Sydelle Pulaski, Barney Northrup, and Angela Wexler. My favorite character is Angela because she is really pretty and is a great friend to Sydelle when she fractures her ankle. The story takes place at Sunset Towers.
It all starts out when Sam, Turtle, and Doug, have a bet on Halloween with some other people that they could stay in this hunted old house who someone died in for a long time. They got two dollars an hour. When it got really late they went in the house and timed themselves. Turtle saw a skeleton and ran out screaming. Sam heard her but thought it was a trick so he stayed in there. After awhile Doug came out, too. The next day they saw on the news that Sam Westing was found dead in the haunted house!!!! Everyone that worked or lived there was called to a meeting to hear the will. It said that one of them killed him and he did not die naturally. To figure out who is the murderer they must play the Westing Game. Rules: You will each will be in groups of two, each pair will receive 10,000 dollars, each pair will receive one set of clues, if any player drops out his or her partner will have to drop out also, and give back the 10,000 dollars, each pair will be given 2 days notice to the next session, there you can share one answer, object of the game to win. Remember it’s not what clues you have it’s what you don’t have. The pairs are: #1 Madame Sun Lin Hoo, and Jake Wexler
#2 Turtle Wexler and Flora Baumbauch

Just got this back with a favorable grade (98) and felt it may be nice to share. We actually had a while to do this, so it's generally much more polished than a timed essay would be, but with my procrastination and general unwillingness to edit there are still a few uncomfortable sentences and a rather hasty conclusion.…

The apotheosis and popularization of the American West has left an indelible and lamentable stain upon the historical record of the United States for both European and Native Americans. Moreover, this revisionist history has obfuscated the objective reality of the American West. Relations between European and Native Americans have been vexed by this miscarriage of justice all the way through the present era. In this fallacious and farcical narrative of rugged individual European Americans conquering and enlightening the “Wild West” (Major Problems, 55) remains the tragic ramifications of American imperialism. This ruthless conquest left a wanton trail of depredation and destruction from which the autochthonous peoples of North America could not recover from.…

    American West

The “American West” is not what many people think of when they hear those words. People think of it as cowboys and Indians fighting on the Great Plains and in the canyons or the travel across rugged terrain traveling as fast as they could for the gold rush. In all honesty the west started as soon as the Americas began to be colonized and many historians say it begins at the Proclamation Line of 1763. They had many struggles with the Native Americans, the French trying to take their land by way of war, and Great Britain, the motherland, taxing them harshly for war debt but the American colonists eventually made their way to what is today commonly called the West.…
