Most food manufacturing companies have had to make sure their equipment was clean and sanitized. Major chain foods have had to take extra precautions to keep nuts away from other foods. Even schools have added nut free zones for children to eat in to be safe. Most business’ also say that their may be traces of nuts to cover any attempts at lawsuits, and restaurants usually add the note of “please inform the waiter if any member has a allergy” so they can be extra careful with the food they serve.
