    | * Notes: Sasquatch, also known as Bigfoot, is an ape-like creature said to live in the United States and Canada. Although sightings have been reported in numerous states, most reports come from the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Numerous Bigfoot sightings have also been reported in British Columbia, Canada. In Wisconsin, the Lakota Indians call the creature "Chiye-tanka", a word meaning "Big Elder Brother." Sasquatch is described as a large, hairy bipedal hominoid. Many people think that Bigfoot's relatives can be found in different areas of the world under different names, such as the "Yeti" in Nepal and Tibet. The Sasquatch’s footprints can be twenty-four inches long and up to eight inches wide. People who have reported seeing a Sasquatch, that in addition to resembling an ape, it has large eyes and facial structures that bear a resemblance to a male gorilla. The most common color of a Sasquatch's hair is black. However, several colors have been reported such as dark brown, reddish brown, light brown, gray, and in rare instances, white. Most sightings have reported that the hair on Sasquatch is quite wiry and appears to be matted to the creature. Sasquatches are foragers. A few cases to support this statement are that they have been seen washing and eating wild onions in a stream. Crouching over a water hole washing edible grass roots. There were two piles, one washed and the other unwashed. Walking through a forested area stripping spruce buds off the trees and eating the seeds. It would also pull down branches to eat the buds. Head lights of a car caught a Sasquatch eating apples in front of a house. Many trees had the fruit stripped off higher than a human could reach. Stealing corn and turnips from a vegetable garden, chickens and turkeys also missing. A bedding…

    Through the Tunnel

In the short story Through the Tunnel, Jerry and his mother spent their holidays near the sea. Jerry, the eleven-year-old English boy, was trying to become more independent and be accepted by the local boys so he left the safe beach where his mother stayed and turned to a more dangerous one. The main conflict appears when Jerry was convincing himself to practice holding a longer breath and dive through a long underwater tunnel made up of rock walls in the bottom of the sea. He wanted to demonstrate that he was able to cross the barriers without the help of other people. The overall meaning of the story is that growing up is always a harsh process but everyone has to face the challenges and go through them. This can be noticed in the sentences “…this moment when his nose had only just stopped bleeding, when his head was still sore and throbbing --- this was the moment when he would try. If he did not do it now, he never would” in which Jerry suffered all the pains but still continued trying to cross the tunnel. In the photo essay, the four pictures are mainly aiming to illustrate the connections of two generations, between youth and adults. For instance, the old lady in the second picture was injected Botox to look younger. The boy in the third picture is reading a book which gives us a sense that he is mature and knowledgeable.…

In American legends since the early 1900s, there has been myths and fables about a creature that roams the forests of the United States and even sightings in Canada. The native name for it is Sasquatch (Shone, 2006, p. 2). People that have claimed to have seen it describe it as a muscular ape-like body, large, about six feet nine inches tall, and covered in hair that is black, dark brown, or even reddish. Huge footprints that have been recovered have been claimed to be as large as 24 inches long and eight inches wide (Theisen, 2011, p. 5). Which is why it is notorious for the name Bigfoot (Shone, p. 2).…

This movement is conveyed through the repeated shots displaying the girls walking or close-ups of their feet. Another camera technique used to great effect, to display the movement of the girls, is the tracking shot. This is where the camera moves with the subject. This effect is used many times throughout the film, particularly in the abduction scene, which is the beginning of all journeys for the girls. The shot assists in communicating the movement of the girls, as the responder is taken on the journey, which builds a greater understanding of the environment and the journey…

The average human being lives through each and every day using the five sources of sensation, whether or not it’s done consciously or unconsciously. These sources, known as the five senses- sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell- help in the process of taking in information about our environment. These senses, all very important, give us valuable data- what is out there in the environment, how much there is, and what it’s doing. To give up or lose one of these senses would be awful, as each of the senses gives us different input, but I would say the two I find the most important are touch and sight.…

Just as we have folklore about Bigfoot or Sasquatch here in the United States, so do many other countries around the globe. Although they may be referred to by other names, such as in South Asia they are called “Yeti or “The Abominable Snowman “, all eye witness accounts describes them as very large, smelly, hairy humanoids. An apelike creature between 7 and 10 feet tall, covered in dark brown or dark reddish hair with a pronounced brow and large eyes. In Canada they are called Sasquatch and the first known reported sighting was in 1811 by an explorer and trader in Canada named David Thompson who found footprints fourteen inches long, eight inches wide with four toes, in the snow. Another strange account from Canada was about a lumberjack named Albert Ostman who claims in 1924 he was captured by a family of Sasquatch and held captive for a week, and…
