The Undercover Parents Harlan Coben Analysis
What is the important of spyware? In the article “The Undercover Parents” by Harlan Coben in March 16, 2008 reports that parents should put spyware on their children’s social network. Most parents put spyware on their kids to monitor their kid’s behavior, or keep them from danger or harmful places. Coben’s purpose of writing this article is to persuade the readers to spyware their kids online to protect their kids from danger or harmful online websites, or to keep their children on track with their academic. However, some parents will say that they should have a trust on their kids. I agree with Coben’s arguments that parents should spyware to monitor their kid’s behavior online.

As Harlan Coben mentions that, “One of the most popular arguments against spyware is the claim that you are reading your teenager’s every thought, that in today’s world, a computer is the little key-locked diary of the past”, this quote is showing that having spyware is a nosy and eavesdropping on the kid’s conversation. I disagree with this idea of some parents, because without this software kids might use a bad website, or communicate with strangers. For using this software might be a nosy or eavesdropping on a child, but it is safe for the children to be under the protection of parents. There is also good to have trust and believe from parents to children.

As you can see, that parents should put spyware to monitor their kid’s behavior online. Therefore, this software could protect the children from danger or harmful stuff online, or to keep them be on track with their academic. However, parents should have a strong believe and trust on their children, and help them when they have a hard time or in a bad situation. From their parents should have this software, and always make sure that the kids is under the
