The twists and turns of rollercoasters and love
The Twists and Turns of Rollercoasters and Love. The sweet anticipation. The eager, empty gut feeling. The slow, clanking rise. The brief moment of calm. The swift, gut wrenching rise and fall, over and over. The unanticipated, breath taking turns. The rush when its looked back on. At first glance, you might say I am just talking about a rollercoaster, but is that all? Is there a chance that every one of the things stated is also aplicable to love? I think so. Although everyones ride is a little different, I believe that rollercoasters and love are far more alike than we think. I was eleven. It was my first time going to Universal Studios, and I was so excited. I had never been on a rollercoaster before. And Since I was a newbie, my dad, being the man he was, took me to the scariest ride there, Deuling Dragons. We got in line and I was jumping up and down with excitement, asking tons of questions. "Do you think I'm tall enough?" "Are you scared? I'm not scared." "How long will it take to get to the ride?" "Do you think I'll get sick? I hope I dont get sick." Will all the time we spent in line, I thought we would never make it to the ride. Finally as we got to the front of the line, my excitement quickly turned to nervousness. Some of the people getting off the ride didn't look like they enjoyed it, and I was scared I would be the same way. But being the dare devil I was, I got a boost into my seat and was ready to go. A lady came around to check our buckles and she was telling us all of the things we need to do to stay safe while on the ride, which made me even more nervous. So I was back to square one, second guessing if I should've been so brave. Before I could even think about getting off, the ride started to move. Slow at first, taking the climb to the first peak. And as we got to the top, I looked down, my stomach did a 360, and we started to fall. We gained so much speed on our way to the bottom of the slope, I thought that we were done for. I

Once we got to Six flags we already had our season passes so we headed to the main ride that we wanted to go on, “The Superman.” There was no line there so we headed straight to the first cars. I sat next to Jim. Ben was behind me and next to Tim. The first drop was 220 feet straight down. On the left side I was right next to the river, on other side Jim was facing the park. For about ten seconds we were all weightless. At the bottom of the drop we were going 75 miles per hour. It was the best roller coaster I have ever been on. We all decided to go on it two more times in a row before we finally decided to go find another ride.…

So we went to Six Flags for a graduation trip for middle school and it is just a park full of roller coasters and intense rides. So we were there around 8:00 am and we were hyped and excited and most of the lines were super short. So the scariest ride was basically empty and friend that would be the best ride to go on first so we did. No matter how scared we were and wanted to get off because the ride was an actual drop. You go up and up and at the peak, you all of a sudden drop and your legs are hanging below you swinging around. This was really scary for me because this was first ride so I had no adrenaline pumping, and I had never been to this amusement park before and I was freaking…

We drove down in separate cars from Kentucky enduring about thirteen long hours of “fun” with my immediate family. We finally arrive in animal kingdom where we are staying in one of the Disney hotels. We get to our room and get settled in when I look out on the balcony and see giraffes, and antelopes, and peacocks walking around in my back yard. It was one of my favorite parts of this trip. We then go out to wait for the bus to take us to our first kingdom, epcot. I remember immediately being here as a child and know exactly what I want to go and do and see. Now being seventeen, I take one of my cousins and we go off on our own to see what we want to experience. We go to the science museum and learn about space and evolution which has through my high school years been very beneficial to me. Having fun and learning at the same time was great. I spend the entire next day going around to all the rides and enjoying them at least two times each. I couldn’t believe how much fun I was having. After that I went to the stores and got all the things I wanted to take back home to remember this trip…

Another experience I had was when I was 9. I was tall enough to ride almost all the rides at Cedar Point and I was so excited to ride them. We had ridden all the rides we were allowed to ride until we reached the last one. I was so scared to do it because it was so tall. My parents forced me to go on it and I tried everything to convince them that I didn’t want to go. They made me go anyway. We got up and I screamed the whole way down. My fear was very stupid and now I love that roller coaster!…

We waited anyways. An hour went by and it’s almost our turn to go on the ride. Then right before we were about to get on the ride some girl came by us and was telling us about the drop. She said, “everybody agrees that it’s the best ride here.” She then described the ride to us and we thought it sounded like a fun ride. The girl then left and went with her friends to the other line she was in. We got onto the ride, felt wind blowing in our hair, hands were flying up we were having so much fun. The ride then stopped and we got off of it. The same girl that was telling us about the ride was standing there waiting for us. She decided to go on the ride with us as a group. We walked over to the Drop and the line was empty. We gave the man our tickets and we got on. The man then said “get onto the ride at your own risk.” I began to look around nervously, I was scared but I wasn’t going to back out. I thought to myself “how bad could it actually be brehia?” I knew he was just trying to scare us but was also wondering why the line was empty when there were a few hundred people there. We got on to the ride and we started going up slowly, felt like we were never going to reach the top. We got 100 ft in the air and all of the sudden I felt it shake and rattle, we tilted to the right side. The ride was holding on by a few strings. I was so scared panicking, screaming for help, praying to god that we were all going to be safe. I knew I wasn’t going to live I just knew it. Wishing I could tell my family I love them, hoping for the worst. Knew there was nothing I could do, it was over…

“Wooooshhhhh!!!” At blast off, California Screamin, took us through twists and turns, with an upside down loop. People were screaming their lungs out when the steel roller coaster soared into the air like a rocket. The terrifying speed made my toes curl and the strong wind pushed my head against the rubber black seat. I cried bloody murder on the coaster as it fell plumb down almost touching the ground. All too soon, it was over. After I got off of the thrill ride, I found my haggard look with disheveled hair through a snapshot picture. This is simply too awful to contemplate.…
