In the book "Romeo and Juliet" characters change throughout the play, this includes Juliet. Juliet was a obedient daughter at the beginning of the play and slowly became less and less obedient. When Juliet was crying she lied to her parents by saying that she was crying for Tybalt when really she was crying for Romeo's banishment. She lied to her parents when she said she was going for confession but actually went to marry Romeo. Juliet lied to her father about wanting to marry Paris when it was just part of her plan. Juliet also lied to the nurse when she said she needed to pray when really she just needed to be alone to drink the poison.
