The Town Of Tarenda Summary
Capt. B was once a hustler of jewelry in the town of Tarenda. He had a girlfriend named Jackie, but they were having some rather huge issues. She wanted to settle down and start a family, but his past was catching up with him and he just needed to get away. One night while Jackie was sleeping he packed up his stuff and slipped away into the night. Capt. B knew that people he hustled in the town of Tarenda were after him. So he just ran and ran until he found this nice little cave behind a waterfall. Come to find out there was a foul and ugly beast living in the cave. This horrendous beast chased him out of the cave. B is quite sullen after having to leave his girlfriend of 3 years. Captain B wants to unwind so he goes sailing with his crew until the sun meets the horizon. Aftera long day at sea, he takes his men to a tavern called the Krusty Barnacle and says, “Drinks on me, boys! We don’t need nothin’ but the open sea, and each other!” The men all let out a big hurrah of gratitude in spirit of Capt. B’s generosity. After the first round of drinks, each of the men go around saying, “I’ve got the next round!” Each man’s speech getting more and more slurred as the rounds go on. “Cummonow boys we gotta big day tummarah,” Capt. B says as he stumbles into a group of biker men, knocking one of their drinks onto them. “HEY get outta here,” yells the biker, pushing Capt. B onto the bar floor. “Why dontcha make me, you scallywag!” exclaims Capt. B with much confidence. Those were the keywords that turned this argument into quite the brawl between the two and shortly into it, the police show up, arresting both the biker, and Capt. B., taking them both to jail. B goes to the yard to get fresh air. Joe Shmo, an inmate who approaches the Captain in the yard, begins chatting about his life-his karoake career in particular. His hands consistently wave and are turned palm up as he questions the decision he made which landed him in prison.
“Why did I break into that ferrari? And why did that late night jam session with Bo Fred take place in the wealthiest part of town?” reminisced Joe.
The belting of “Bohemian Rhapsody” was a crowd favorite at his local Irish pub as he recalled. He began strumming an air guitar, but only immediately after yelling “Galileo!” at the highest pitch he could muster. While he repeated this pattern, Captain’s eyes scanned the rest of the inmates strewn about the yard that afternoon. A group of tall men gathered in a dirt patch next to the grass. One man hovering over another as he shot his marble toward the center of the circle. Then, the wind began to whisper an interesting idea into the Captain’s ear.
“A singer, music lover, and entertainer...this man may be a celebrity. If he cannot live his dream, someone should definitely write it down,” the wind softly
