The name of this propaganda poster is The sunlight of Mao Zedong Thought illuminates the road of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. The background of the poster is red and one interesting characteristic that stands out is the reflection/design on the table. It adds another texture and more colors to the poster and keeps the poster from looking static and boring. Of course the themes of the Cultural Revolution are prominent in the poster via the tanned skin, red colors, bust of Mao, the white book of Mao’s teachings. However, the value and overall meaning of the poster is different from my selected poster, The sunlight of Mao Zedong Thought illuminates the road of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. In Strengthen the study of Marxism-Leninism Mao Zedong Thought, the purpose of the poster is to raise awareness of the Communist teachings that Mao is promoting. It is also displaying the credibility of these teachings via showcasing and reminding them of the successful Western “fathers” of these schools of thought that Mao drew inspiration and based his “Mao Zedong thought” from.
