The Story of Ma Lyf
And in another hadith:
“The best of sinners are those who repent”
Allahumma innaka `afuwwun tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annaa – O Allah! You are forgiving, and you love forgiveness. So forgive us!
After giving adhan in the baby's ear, is it from the Sunnah to give iqaamah in the other ear “Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed greatly against themselves through sins! Do not despair of the Mercy of Allaah. Indeed Allaah forgives all sins to those who repent. Indeed He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful." Soorah az-Zumar (39):54

Abu Zarr (r.a) narrates that once our Prophet (s.a.w) came out of his house. It was autumn and the leaves were falling from the trees. He caught hold of a branch of a tree and its leaves began to drop in large number. At this he remarked, "O Abu Zarr! When a Muslim offers his Salaah to please Allah his sins fall away from him just as these leaves are falling off this tree."
Abu Hurairah (Radiallaho Anho) narrates that once Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam) asked his Sahabah, "Do you believe that dirt can remain on a person bathing five times a day in a stream running in front of his door?" "No," replied the Sahabah, "no dirt can remain on his body." Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam) remarked: "So, exactly similar is the effect of salaah offered five times a day. With the Grace of Allah (Subhanahu wa Taala) it washes away all the sins."

Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be to him) said: “Allah the exalted said, ‘I have divided the prayer (Al-Fatiha) into two halves between Me and My servant. A half of it is for Me and a half for My servant, and My servant shall acquire what he asked for.”
If he says, ‘All praise and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of existence’, Allah says, ‘My servant has praised Me.’
When the servant says, ‘The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.’ Allah says, ‘My servant has glorified Me.’
When he says, ‘Master of the Day of Judgment.’ Allah says, ‘My servant has glorified Me.’
When he says, ‘You (alone) we worship, and You (alone) we ask for help’, Allah says, ‘This is between Me and My servant, and My servant shall acquire what he sought.’
When he says, ‘Guide us to the straight path. The way of those on whom You have granted Your grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your anger, nor of those who went astray’, Allah says, ‘This is for My servant, and My servant shall acquire what he asked for.’ ”
Al-Fatiha is not only an introduction to the Qur’ān but also a prayer from us to which the Qur’ān is the answer from Allah. Thus it has a relationship of a prayer and a response.

“… if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins” (Mark 12:25 NIV). God is expected to forgive his creations, and humans, in their constant struggle to emulate God, follow his teachings. And just as God’s mercy is described as prevailing over his wrath, so in Islam, human to human forgiveness is associated with the control of one’s anger. In fact, one of the characteristics of the Islamic Believer is that “…when they are angry they forgive.” (al-Shura 42:37) Muslims are encouraged to reflect on their own imperfections, and God’s forgiveness for our mistakes, as a reason to offer forgiveness in turn to their fellow humans. Forgiveness among humans is given a high societal value for its ability to heal wounds and promote reconciliation. A similar ideology is expressed in Buddhism, as reflected by the teachings in the Dhammapada. “He abused me, he struck me, he overcame me, he robbed me’ — in those who harbor such thoughts hatred will never cease. ‘He abused me, he struck me, he overcame me, he robbed me’ — in those who do not harbor such thoughts hatred will cease.” Dhammapada…

Despite all the mistakes a person makes shouldn’t forgiveness always be achievable? Kit forgave many people in her life, she forgave her father even after everything he put her through. Kit forgave her mother for not trying hard enough and she forgave many people that entered her life and made mistakes as well. In the novel “Baygirl” by Heather Smith the theme is that there is always room for forgiveness.…

The main idea of this article was how to train the church community to instill the forgiving model. One of those ideas of how to instill the forgiving model was for forgivers to learn from their forgiveness and understand one must forgive because they have been forgiven for something themselves. As forgiveness is given and received both recipients, especially the forgiver now see that we all live in a world full of brokenness yet we still yearn to be restored into full fellowship with one another.…

The Oxford English Dictionary defines forgiveness as ‘to grant free pardon and to give up all claim on account of an offense or debt.’ However, many philosophers, academics and religious leaders alike, agree that there is more to forgiveness than simply pardoning a person for the acts which they have committed. As Harold Kushner observed, “Forgiving happens inside of us. It represents a letting go of the sense of grievance, and perhaps most importantly (sic) a letting go of the role of victim.” Therefore, if one were to oversimplify ‘true forgiveness,’ ‘true forgiveness’ must encompass two things. Firstly, ‘true forgiveness’ must ‘grant free pardon and give up all claim on account of an offense.’ In other words, ‘true forgiveness,’ must fully absolve the acts of another and thereby relieve a large portion of the guilt and remorse that the person seeking forgiveness feels. Secondly, forgiving another must relieve the personal and internal pain and anguish that the person seeking forgiveness has caused. While we can never forget the acts that the…

To most people, forgiving is seen as simply accepting an apology given by the one who wronged them. However, forgiving is so much more than just that. Forgiving takes such vast quantities of effort, feeling, and, most importantly, love. There is no forgiveness without love. For if you do not really feel the love in your heart for the person who wronged you, how can you give anything more than a grudging acceptance…

Only a humble human being can attain the quality to completely forgive. The person must go through trials and disturbance in their lives to know pain, endure suffering, know happiness and learn from life's mistakes. We can see clearly the ability to forgive in the Holy Bible by a man that went through hard times. Jesus Christ died for our sins. He could have damned every person from them on, but he chose to forgive for they and we do not know what we are doing. He possessed what so many of us take for granted nowadays: true forgiveness. Another case, in the church when Pope John Paul II asked “...forgiveness to all mankind for the mistakes made by the Catholic Church, for abuse committed by priests against children (sexual abuse).” Does asking for forgiveness on behalf of all the priests who were guilty of this crime somehow swipe their plates clean from such an unthinkable act? How far and to what extent are we, as humans, able to forgive one another? Have we truly changed from those people who crucified Jesus? In my short life, I have had many opportunities to understand the value of forgiveness. As far as time has allowed me to remember, I have always been taught to forgive, but never forget. When one of my friends decided to take my toy without permission I would forgive them, but I would…
