The Spanish American War: If the War Had Not Happened
If The War Had Not Happened

The Spanish American War played a very important role in the future of the United States. Each and every event that happens in life shapes the future. However, the question in life is always what if this event had not happened. If the Spanish American War had not happened America would have been completely different. If the war had not happened America would not have had several social programs that benefit the poor as well as the sick and elderly. Also if this war had not happened the many wars that have happened in the United States would have never taken place. The population would have been much larger. Therefore, if the war had not happened many of the positives that this country has had would not have taken place, as well as many negatives would not have happened as well. If the Spanish American War had not taken place America's diplomatic and political role in the world would have been completely different. America's involvement in this war made us as a country look strong. If we had not participated we would not have been looked upon as a power in the world. Also we would not have been looked upon as a country that handles other countries religious, political, and foreign problems. America has had its hands in other countries affairs ever since the war ended. This war gave us a reason to take care of foreign problems. However, if the war had not taken place we would not have had a reason to have a stronger army. Our stronger army has allowed us to handle civil disputes in other countries. This proves that if the war had not taken place there would have been no reason to handle foreign affairs or have a stronger army. Next, if we had not entered into the war we would not have gained any allies from other countries. When we entered into the war and won we emerged as a world power. As a power in the world you can make decisions together for the world. Also as a world power the rest of the world looks upon them to make

Before this had even occurred, Spain was known to be powerful whereas England was a small country with little wealth. However, this one incident changed everything. England became a more dominant navel country because they were able to successfully defend and defeat Spain, who was more powerful than England at that time. The English and British started expanding in North America because they knew that Spain’s power was lessened and weakened. They created permanent settlements in North America by establishing colonies, without the fear of Spain. As a result, this was important because without the Spanish Armada, the colonies wouldn’t be established in the New…
