Violet has consistently struggled with the feed since she was little. On a daily basis, Violet disagrees and tests the feeds values. When Violet was little she grew up in a family that wasn't as fortunate as other families living in this society. Violet got the feed later than most kids because she couldn’t pay for it. Her dad raised her to value school and knowledge which set Violet apart from the others. Violet is a peculiar but refreshing character in this society, with this being said she has substantial reasons for why she rejects the feed. Not having the feed has made Violet different and has had an impact on her identity. This can be seen when she is talking and everybody sees the difference in her vocabulary and questions why this is.
