Remove the ‘’The Scientific Method’’ experiment bag from the LabPaq box.

Actions Taken: I opened up my LabPaw box and sorted through the equipment to find the plastic bag labeled ‘’The Scientific Method.’’

2. Remove the vials containing the six unknown substances from the experiment bag.

Actions Taken: I removed the vials and placed them on my counter in order from 1-6. I then studied the substances visually to gather what I already know about them.

3. Identify the color of each of the six unknown samples, and record the results in Data Table 1, next to the row labeled ‘’Color’’ for each sample.

Actions Taken: I visually examined each sample’s color, and then recorded the results onto Data Table One.

Use the graduated cylinder to measure and transfer 5 mL of distilled water into each of the six test tubes.

Stopper the test tube with a clean, dry rubber stopper and shake vigorously.
Actions Taken: I labeled six test tubes in accordance with their respective Sample number and placed them on the test tube rack. I then placed a pea-sized amount of each sample in their corresponding test tube. Following that, I utilized the graduated cylinder to measure and transfer 5 mL of distilled water into each of the six test tubes. I then placed a rubber stopper on Sample #1, and shook vigorously to determine its solubility. I repeated this with each sample, and then recorded my results in Data Table 1.
OBSERVATIONS:
Questions
A. Which of the six measures in the experiment yielded quantitative data? What specifically about the measure was quantitative?
Answer: Volume, Mass, and Density all yielded quantitative data. They are numerical measurements that define the sample, as opposed to qualitative, which describes.
B. Which unknowns are you confident that you correctly identified? What specific test was crucial in this

A quantitative analysis is the result of correlating known variables that are represented by numerical data directly related to the hypothesis. This method of data collection is most often used in the quantitative research approach with a direct emphasis related to mathematics and statistics (Dorsten, 2006, p. 147) Additional questions can be answer using the quantitative approach if the data can be and observation can be converted into numerical numbers. For example, if the test is design to uncover the amount of sales per hour, than my related question may be “what is the means and or average of sales per hour”.…

Biology is the study of the phenomena of life, and biologists observe living systems and organisms, ask questions, and propose explanations for those observations. Science assumes that biological systems are understandable and can be explained by fundamental rules or laws. Scientific investigations share some common elements and procedures, which are referred to as the scientific method. Not all scientists follow these procedures in a strict fashion, but each of the elements is usually present. Science is a creative human endeavor that involves asking questions, making observations, developing explanatory hypotheses, and testing those hypotheses. Scientists closely scrutinize investigations in their field, and each scientist must present his or her work at scientific meetings or in professional publications, providing evidence from observations and experiments that supports the scientist’s explanations of biological phenomena.…
