The Salem Witch Trials Hysteria Of 1692
In the year of 1692 Salem Witchcraft was a big mystery that everyone worried about, was the devil coming to town? The Puritans used the Bible "to guide them through this difficult life". Until, witchcraft began and they started to hang people so they can be with God. There were many reason on what caused the Salem Witch Trials. But, after looking over evidence these are the reasons the Salem Witch Trials hysteria of 1692, were caused by the Puritans beliefs, the attention seeking girls, and the Ergot.
The first cause of the Salem Witch Trials hysteria was the Puritans beliefs in God. The Puritans beliefs were strong and it them through their whole life. The evidence proves that they take every word in the Bible serious which caused the Salem Witch Trials hysteria because the Bible says that witchcraft was a sin and the Devil was real. The Puritans beliefs made a connection between the Devil and witch. This analyze that the connection between the devil and witch caused the Salem Witch Trial hysteria because in the (Background Essay) it says the devil could "enter a normal person's body into a witch". The Puritans beliefs caused many problems in the Salem Witch Trials.
The second cause of the Salem Witch Trials hysteria was the attention seeking girls. Everyone believe them and they were becoming "famous". The "afflicted children" caused the Salem …show more content…
Ergot has number of symptoms that made people get accused of witchcraft. This proves that Ergot had a large amount of symptoms that cause the Salem Witch Trials hysteria because its a parastic fungus which are an deadly poison. Ergot could make bad hallucinations this can make a lot of causes for the witch trials . This shows that Ergot caused the Salem Witch Trials hysteria because this condition had caused crawling sensations in the skin anf psychesis.
