It stands for the families who have people over seas and people who died for the freedom of our country and what we take for granted everyday. Veterans lay their lives down for the flag. Then people just turn around and do an act that hurts the soldiers. I bet if they were in the line of fire as a soldier. They would have completely different thoughts about the flag and what it stands for. All in all, Burning the flag should be illegal because the American flag stands for the great country that protects us for overseas countries. The flag stands for the loved ones overseas.
