Our world has a solution for practically every problem that exists. Birth control is a common solution to many problems, the most familiar being pregnancy. There are many types of birth control. Birth control has many uses, which occasionally come with side-effects. Birth control is frequently used in America; and has several types, benefits, and disadvantages.
There are several types of birth control. Some of the most customary forms of birth control include the pill, the Depo-Provera® shot, the condom, the IUD, the implant, the patch, and withdrawal. According to AHFS Consumer Medication, “combinations of estrogen and progestin work by preventing ovulation (the release of eggs from the ovaries)” in the birth control pill (Estrogen …show more content…
1). However, birth control is also used for many different reasons. Young Women’s Health lists many of these reasons. The regulation of the menstrual cycle is one of the most common reasons women use birth control, aside from preventing pregnancy. The forms of birth control that use hormones to prevent pregnancy, unlike the condom, also help lower the pain of menstrual cramps, reduce the symptoms of PMS (premenstrual syndrome), and control acne. They have many forms of birth control to choose from. The many uses of birth control make it very common among women of almost all ages. Birth control continues to be used daily by women around the world, despite its many side effects. It is a solution to many, many problems that women have to face, including pregnancy.
