People base more on assumption than facts; An individual can in their minds create a picture of an individual and place that individual in a stereotypical group. It is not just characteristic that set an individual apart that creates a stereotype, but also the character that causes us to place an individual as a member of a group; it’s true that placing labels on people is natural when it comes to the brain, but what is not natural is the action we take against stereotyping. Secondly, challenge stereotype people express about others. Challenge categories people assign you to automatically; suggest politely, you’re mistaken in your opinion about me, let me tell you why, with tact and good will, everybody can resist accepting the labels they don’t fit. We’ll win respect and pave the way for unblemished communication.
